Good Morning All!

I am in the process of helping my cousins figure our were they are in the immigration process...

The short version of this story is that my dead beat uncle FINALLY submitted a petition for his (over 21 years old) children back in 2006. From what I know NOA1 and NOA2 were received but we haven't heard anything beyond that time. My uncle has been less than helpful in exploring what's next. I checked the USIC site (I have the EAC #) and the last touch was 2007! My cousin has this random number beginning with KNG########### (I'm assuming its something affliated with the Kingston Embassy??).

My question is...

If my cousin calls the embassy what information is needed to get the status? What should she ask? Does any one have a phone number

Is an email better, if so, what should we ask? Does anyone have an email address?

Being that my uncle is a permanate resident, historically has it really taken this long for a visa approval (or denial)? Three years seems long - even for a non-USC.

Thanks for any information.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

he can't do anything, he has to wait until his priority date becomes

current. the NVC or National Visa Center will contact your uncle

to continue the process.

for unmarried children over 21 of a LPR it takes more than 5 years,

they are currently working with cases filed in June'05. he should

check the visa bulletin every month.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!! B-)

ps: he should be happy, it used to take

over 9 years.

My question is...

If my cousin calls the embassy what information is needed to get the status? What should she ask? Does any one have a phone number

Happy Thanksgiving!

My Answeres are...

1. If if your cousin calls the embassy it'll be a waste of time for him/person he's talking to. Why? Because the case was not forwarded to the Kingston Embassy so they have no knowledge even that a case was filed.

2. Telephone: (876) 702-6000 ( no case related information WILL be given)

3. The email address was given... know that it's the best best way to communicate with the embassy (NOW THEY HAVE NO INFO 4U)

Being that my uncle is a permanate resident, historically has it really taken this long for a visa approval (or denial)? Three years seems long - even for a non-USC.

Well you're not awaiting an approval or denial... that happens at the NOA2 stage and you were approved it seems as the NVC case # was assigned. You're not awaiting approve/Deny but for further processing of your case. Since the petitioner os no longer living then someone else MAY be able to take over the case and proceed with the meetiing the Financial Requirement etc.. but that's ways away.

Hope all your questions were addressed.
