Passport maiden name changed

HI guys,

This is my first post in VJ. Right now my case in NVC. When i filled I 130... i hve attached a copy of my wife's old passport (with her maiden name ). after one month of file she changed her passport with marriage name. Now from NVC i got the DS-3032 package and it has my wife's maiden name on the form.

I called NVC to changed the name but lady told me to email the new passport copy. I did send NVC 3 mail with my wife's scaned new passport copy. but i have not received any reply from NVC (email reply).

My both fees are generated i already paid AOS fee but cover sheet i am getting my wife's maiden name. Should i send AOS package or should i wait till name get changed?.

does any one has same problem?? any sugettions? Thanks

Hi, my wife did the exactly same thing with her passport, although we are 1-3 weeks behind than you in the process. But I just wonder what name did you enter in your I-130, the NVC should follow your I-130 information.

My case is still with USCIS, but I entered her married name in I-130, and attached her maiden name passport and marriage certificate. I will keep you posted if I came to know more info, but let me know if you entered your wife's maiden name in I-130 or not ?

I didn't change my name in the passport until we were finished with NVC and right before our interview. You're fine. Just bring both passports to the interview in case they ask (they probably won't).

I was in the same situation as you. I also think the advice Canadian lady gives is sound. What i did was to email the NVC with a scanned copy of my wife's new passport biography page. I also wrote a letter and attached the hardcopy of the new bio page and mailed it along with the DS3032. It took about three weeks to get a response from NVC. I just check the IV bill yesterday and it now reflects my wife's marital name. NVC also sent my wife an email confirming the had changed her name.

So i guess what I am saying is that they will change the information in their system to reflect the name showing in her current passport.

You can change the name with passport copy at NVC.

When you mail DS-230, it can have married name.

If none worked, at interview mention it.

Anyway, visa will be in the name as in the passport.
