hi experts, i have met my husband (US citizen) in 2007 through work when i was on a J-1 Visa, we officially started dating from 2009. shortly after i finished my J-1 program and left USA. from the time i left the USA until now it has been a year. i have been back to the USA 5 times on a B2 visa.

the last time i entered here was in June this summer, i was going to stay here for 3 weeks then will be back to Europe after.( i have brought returning ticket) i have done this 4 times already. but the time has come he proposed to me in July. and i said yes to him:) his family has arranged a wedding for us in Aug. we filed I 130 and I 485 in Oct. everything seems going well so far. and i believe that my husband and i will be having an interview with USCIS at the end of the AOS process is this correct? and during the interview what kind of question we will be questioned? according to my case is there anything i need to be aware of before i go to the interview? has anyone here experienced same thing like me/or adjust status successfully from B2 status? if so will you give me some advices please? i am really new to this. i am very happy to be with my husband and excited to plan the future with him together but on the other hand every time when we about future i feel scared because i am not sure if i can get my status adjusted or not. please help. thank you ! :)

Don't worry! You can get your status adjusted. It is a really nerve-wracking process for everyone, trust me. At the interview they may ask you for what purpose you came to the US on this last visit, because it is illegal to enter the US on a B2 with the intent to immigrate. I sounds like you had a sudden change of plans, so don't worry, be confident, and tell your story if/when they ask. They might not even ask you about it if everything else looks good (suspected intent is not enough of a reason to deny you by itself).

Otherwise, you can search for people's interview experiences... generally they ask you questions about your spouse (birthday, mom's name etc) and look over your evidence. They will ask your spouse questions too. If you are truly in love, then you have nothing to worry about. Good luck, stay calm, and congrats on your marriage!

EDIT: Eek, just noticed you had a J1 visa. Did it have a home residency requirement? Sounds like you didn't go home for 2 years to fulfill that requirement if you did have it.

Harpa Timsah thank you so much for your quick response. you are right i need to be confident. i stressed myself out badly:(

that 2 years rule does not apply to my J1 visa. does it mean i do not have to go back to my home country for at least 2 years right?

thank you again :)

Oh good, no residency requirement. Then you should just relax and look forward to your interview! Also, you might join October filers thread here. I am sure they want new company! http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/279475-october-2010-filers/
