hi. i just want to ask if i can apply for my driver's license with an employment card. I applied for AOS and I have my interview date on Dec. I just got my EAD card yesterday and im going to the SS office tomorrow to apply for my SS #. Im just worried that with an expired I-94 the BMV office wont let me apply for my driver's license even with an employment card from USCIS.

Did you adjust from K1? You'll likely have to wait for your green card to be issued before you can apply for a driver's license (rule vary from state to state). Have you taken the driver's test already? You will need to pas that too.

In Louisiana you can get drivers license with the EAD. Just go down to your local DMV with the EAD and other documents and try to get it.

You will not know until you try,Good luck!!

As stated, some states require the GC, some are okay with the EAD.. you need to locate your state requirements.

** moved from "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based Visas" to Moving Here and Your New Life In America as this isn't an AOS question or a qn about the immigration process, but a "life in USA" qn**
