Expedited Service

Hello all

This is our first real post on the forums. We have recently been approved for expedited service from the NVC. Nothing was handled there. On 16 NOV 2010, the case was forwarded to the embassy in Manila. Up until this point we have been one step ahead of the process due to the tremendous help of VJ. Unfortunately we are at a loss right now. We do not know what to expect since nothing was handled at the NVC.

Is there anyone else who had their case expedited from the NVC to the Manila Embassy? What steps were taken up to interview time? My wife will be getting her medical exam this week since we know the case has been forwarded to the embassy. Is the interview setup already and we just haven't been notified yet or is there some paperwork to do still before they schedule it?

Any help anyone can provide is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

call the embassy and see if they have an appointment already for her. That is what I did. If you see my timeline I called after the case was in manila for a couple of days. They gave me the interview appointment right over the phone. If we would have waited until they sent the appointment out, Mhay would have known about a week out from the actual interview appointment.(that is when she got the hardcopy letter) I just called the $18 pin number. I figured it was better to know I would actually be talking to someone as I have tried to call direct before and had no answer.

Thank you! Much appreciated. I will do so. I called on Monday (Philippines Time) and the lady said they did not have the case in the system yet. 1 of 3 calls for the $18 pin used up. I asked the lady what we had to do and she said my wife would need to mail the DS-230 in before an appointment could be made. I see you had handled everything at the NVC prior to the expedite approval. In my case, NVC did nothing before the approval. This is where I am curious. What needs to be done. Waiting on them to mail the instructions will take a while.

I will call in one more day. If nothing, I will start being concerned. Thanks again!

there was another member that got hers expedited (actually she was a year ahead of us) and she said that she hand carried all the stuff that you normally would have sent to the NVC. Her name is Dianne http://www.visajourney.com/forums/user/63340-dianne%26%239819%3B/

Yes I sent both the AOS and IV package and the expedite request all at the same time to the NVC. Dianne told me that I shouldnt have had to send anything to the NVC, but they received everything and forwarded it to the Manila embassy. Also, the NVC recording said it was forwarded to the manila embassy on the date it left.

I would call the NVC and make sure when your package left there. When ours got expedited they told me that it would be sent out within 48 hours. It helps with the tracking online. (your file should have been sent alone, not with other cases) you should not have to send it in, but they have probably changed the ways of doing things in the past couple of years. I would find out when exactly it was sent and then you can do the DHL tracking to figure out when it arrives. Once they have it in the system there, they will most likely give you an interview date or tell you the address to send the AOS and IV package to.

FWIW, they wanted Mhay to fill out another DS-230 when she got to the embassy, but I sent her one pre-filled out and she just had to sign it there for them.

I have called the NVC again and confirmed the package was shipped on Nov 16. I called the US Embassy in Manila again and they still do not have record of the case. Rienalynn's medical exam is finished and she is cleared. They took her passport and they are sending it to the embassy. This part worries me because they have not received her case file yet. The last thing we need is for her passport to get lost in the system.

I tried the DHL tracking and I can't get it to work. No matter what I try, it comes up empty. I even asked the NVC for the tracking number and they could not provide it. The lady did confirm it was shipped by DHL. Any ideas on the tracking?

Thanks for all your help again.

Ok, I did more research on the DHL tracking and it turns out I need to use Internet Explorer instead of Google Chrome. Results populated as they should. I tried the format suggested and nothing was sent to the Philippines. I used EXP 16 NOV 2010A and found one that was received at the embassy on Nov 22. Now I am curious as to why they keep saying they do not have it. UGHH!!!! So now I know it is there, but they haven't touched it. So much for expediting. Sorry, just venting. Thanks again for the help.
