NEW AOS FEES....

Can someone fill me in lol Im lost! I havent even heard about this at all but I have read it on a few forums.. What are the additional fees going to be for??

The new fees are effective 11/23, here is the link USCIS fees

AOS will cost $985 + $85 for biometrics. Have you not filed AOS yet? You might want to check if you need to file a I130 as well.

damn, i thought it was the 26th and we were going to slip in just under the deadline, since we were going to mail ours next-day delivery tomorrow. guess i better write a new check for the higher amount.

So even if we send tomorrow 11/22 we will have to pay the new fee? Wouldnt it just matter when it is sent off??

I would think if it was postmarked on the 22nd you would be fine? Just be sure to hold onto that receipt showing that you sent it off before the price went up.

According to USCIS if it is postmarked by today then you pay the old fees.

Q. How do I know whether to pay the adjusted fee or the old fee?

A. Any application or petition postmarked with a date of November 23, 2010, or later will require the adjusted fee, as established in the final fee rule. Applications and petitions postmarked with a date of November 23, 2010, or later, but that do not contain the adjusted fee, will be rejected as improperly filed.
