Dear VJers,

I applied for AOS, i am preparing for my forthcomming interview. Are children born to myself and my spouse who is the petitioner enough proof of bonafide marriage, or do we need to take anything else for the interview. Now can we take the child to the interview if the IO wants to verify the proof. By the way would save us baby sitter money  . What is your opinion. I am married for 4yrs with my spouse and have a child together. In IR1 based AOS, does having children reduce the scrutiny of USCIS?

No, you need more proof than a child, all that proves is you had unprotected sex or had sex and the condom broke.

Broken down to its most base elements, a child produced between a man and a women simply means that on one cold, dark night, after several glasses of wine, one set of glands was urgently calling out to another, and they had coitus.

Even people who hate each other can bump uglies and produce a crying crumb cruncher.

Best idea is to Bone Up on the AOS guide here on VJ, and put a tight package together, practice some of the questions, and be ready for an interview that you will pass with flying colors. The kids will get a warm reception from the Consular Officer though, and give you brownie points.

Good Luck!
