Travelling to US during IR-1 procedure allowed?

Hello everyone,

I read somewhere on this website that travelling to the US during the IR-1 procedure might not be permitted. Could anyone fill me in whether there is any information out there pertaining to this as I'd like to know more about this so that I and my future wife can be prepared better.

It is permitted (assuming you have a tourist visa or can travel on the VWP). Just have the foreign spouse bring evidence that they will return home (lease to apartment, letter from employer etc), in case they get questioned at the border.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

05/17/2012 - Case Completed

Consulate

07/02/2012 - VFS visit in Cochin

07/04/2012 - Medical in Chennai

07/12/2012 - Interview in Mumbai - Success!

09/08/2012 - POE at JFK, NY
