Thanks for your opinion Sara. We have the same situation that we did not had any engagement ceremony and we did not provide any concern pictures(They asked for pic. before, during and after the ceremony including the name, addresses and phone no. of the guests not the immediate relative).Instead of that we submitted a letter explaining why we did not had it and name, addresses and phone no. of our family member/friends who were aware about our relationship.

we also submitted seven letters from her USC family members, letter from her employer, ring purchase receipt, chat and phone records, few pics.of us,letters from both of us and my parents. All were notarized.

Since then my case is pending with the embassy and embassy has not send it back yet.I do not know what was going on with my case,I mean I am not going to know anything until they decide to send it back OR approve us.

The response I get from embassy's email is that my case is still pending under mandatory admin.process.

Now I do not know anything that they are going to approve me or not, should my fiancee still contact Congresswoman requesting for second interview? what if they feel like approving visa without any interview.

Is there any other way I can know about the case status except getting the same damn answer of "Mandatory Admin Process"?

If she should contact congresswoman now, what request she should be putting in the letter, asking for case status or second interview or what?

I am very much confused about this process.

i dont know if this will help you any but perviz had his interview in nov of last year and they didnt send it back or should i say send it back because the petition had expired until about march i think of this year

one thing i would like to add is please both of you dont give up.....if they do end up sending it back apply again or get married and apply our problem was perviz gave up after more than two years of the USA ####### ........ i still had the heart to fight immigration he did not

sara

forgot to add contact anyone you can get a hold of i dont know that it really does any good but for sure makes you feel like your doing everything in your power to get it approved or at least a decision

Yes, Sara you were helpful and I thank you for that.

The thing is that the petition has already expired on Nov.11th and we do not know whether embassy has extended it or not. I called DOS and the lady told me that embassy has not updated our case after Oct.26th(thats because I deposited paperwork on Oct.25th). Does it mean that they did not even touch our file OR just did not update in computer.

Normally CO extend the petition for two month,if it is so then it has already been extended until Jan 11th.

Other thing is that embassy is taking too long to decide about our case and I do not know if I should take a positive point or negative!

How long did embassy take to decide about your case?

Shan also sent an email to embassy requesting for extension the validity of petition and we did not get the reply of this email yet.

we contacted the congresswoman and next week we will send all paperwork to her(Her office asked whatever we deposited against 221(G)); Is it normal to ask all proof of relationship that we deposited?

We have completely prepared us to fight against this ridicules visa process; IF we get denied this time we will apply for K1 once again.

I had also asked for extension of the validity of our petition sadly it didn't get us any place...we never received an answer to that request. the issue with us is they could not find a valid reason to just out and out deny it but sat back until they could send it back as expired.....with that particular embassy i would count on the worst and be very very happy if it is the best took about four months for us but in some cases it takes them one or two months to give a positive out come to it as well so i hate to say it but you have to just prepare for the worst in case it comes to that at the very least it will keep you busy and if it turns out to be visa at this time at least you kept busy i don't mean to sound so negative but that embassy is well known for what they are pulling with you right now.

no movement on your case showing on DOS does not mean they are not doing security checks or what ever else they decided to do at the embassy......wish i could have had someone inside to tell me what it is that they really do but.....what i say about that part of it is all guess work

Just want to let everyone know that I was issued K1 visa second time on Oct 1st, 2012.

Thanks everyone

Congratulation RnS.

Now, I am in same boat.

One thing, I would like to ask you...when you submitted the documents in 2010 that were mentioned in 221g, did they return your passport back soon or did you not submit the passport along with your documents?
