N-400 processing times of late has been consistent and processed within 5-6 months. If you're in a city that has same day oath ceremonies then even better...!

best of luck.. I havent submitted mine.. i've been tryin for the last 2 months.

Make sure you have been married to your sweathard for at least 3 years minus 90 days before you apply. Make it 88 days to be sure because the USCIS maths is strange. It won't delay the ceremony.

Almost all offices can process the whole thing within the 5 months target

It took me 10 weeks from application to interview. I still had not reached my 3 year anniversary on interview day and so I have had to wait another 5 weeks for the ceremony. You cannot have a ceremony before the 3 year date even if you have finished the interview successfully

It's good fun - but a Naturalized citizen will never be equal to 'natural born' so I don't expect too much...

Short lines at Seattle Airport and no GC to carry - that's about it.

I disagree they ARE equal here in the USA get ALL the same benefits. There is only one difference between between being Naturalized/Natural ... Cant become the US PRESIDENT.

they will .. they can hold any other job.. where did you gather your information..?

Saying they can hold any other job is like saying to a black person that they are totally equal to eat out in public, but there are plenty of other restaurants they can go to - not this one.

Not being able to become President means Naturalized Citizens are different to other citizens.. Not equal.

It is common knowledge. It is a fact. There are 2 classes of US Citizens. Them and us. A and B

I don't want to be President but I would like to think there was only ONE class of Citizen and everyone was equal.

There are two classes of citizen. Let any Naturalized citizen try and stand and they will learn soon enough that they are in category B

It took me a bit over 4 months. Now, Newark has a same day Oath Ceremony and that makes it a bit faster but in general I think 3 to 5 month is a good rule of thumb.

You know Alan... I couldn't care less whether they consider me equal or not. I'm proud to be who I am. As you state correctly, natural born Americans never will consider you equal and they don't have to. The main reason for me is a feeling of freedom, I don't have right now. When I have an opinion, I want to be able to express it. Right now, I'm limited because of my status. One doesn't want to risk getting in trouble because of the consequences it might have.

A baby who came to the US legally at age 6 months and became a citizen and was raised as the adopted child of a Senator, is forever banned from the Presidency.

A baby born to an illegal immigrant in a field 100 yards on the US side of the Mexico border, is qualified to be President

That's as daft as the ban on catholics for monarch in Britain. Trouble is that changing anything in the U.S. is very slow and either doesn't happen or takes many decades. That's why the US was last in having votes for women and banning slavery etc. I don't expect to see a change in my life time so I might as well get myself a 'Category B'

T shirt.

I'm just curious... You seem to have bad taste in mouth about US big time... So if it doesn't really matter much to you, then why did you even bother to pay all the money and apply for citizenship...?
