Normally it's thee times the shortfall, so 9000 in your case, but as the K1 is not a spousal visa, some embassies require 5 times, ie 15'000 in your case.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Probably; but where is the money coming from? You need to make sure they don't think you are paying your US fiance for the visa, or that the money has only been transfered for a short-term loan to satisfy the I-134...

Thank you so much. The 5000 will be coming from his recent job that started october 1 2010. The 10,000 was given to him by his dad this november 2010..will this be a problem?

It may be a problem, I am not sure how Manila specifically would view this. Why did dad give son the money? You could maybe have dad write a letter saying it is for "whatever" reason (early wedding gift or whatever), and present that if questions are raised at the interview.

Another consideration for the AOS is why the petitioner makes so little money, and whether this is likely to continue. For example, if your petitioner/ USC is a student below the poverty line because working part-time while in full-time college, and will be an engineer or doctor when he gets out, they are far more likely to approve you than if your petitioner is in a dead-end job and has no qualification or prospects to better himself.

A trust fund will often have stipulations on when and/or how the money can be used. The CO in Manila may not accept an asset (the trust fund) that cannot be easily converted into cash.

A better possible solution may be for the parent to be a joint (co) sponsor. While cosponsors are not always accepted in Manila for K1 petitions they are more likley to accept a close family member. In that case the parent would complete a form I-134 along with your fiance.

Is your fiance a student who has recently graduated or will soon graduate from college/university?

Thank you Anh Map .The 10000 cash given by the father of my fiance was added to the old savings account of my fiance.the account was opened 2 years ago, thus it can be easily converted to cash and my fiance can withdraw it anytime he wants to. But do i need a letter from his dad saying that he gave this certain amount to my fiance and he can use it anytime he wants to? or how about atty will write a letter stating that the additional amount was given by his dad and he can use anytime he wants to?

Is this the right format of bank statement bank.pdf?

My fiance used to own a business before but was greatly affected by the recession.only months ago he started to have a good paying job.

A letter from the bank (what you attached to your post) about the account balance, history can be helpful. The bank statements are what is issued to the account holder showing the transcations/balances for a given period of time.
