Hello!

My Danni and I have been in this process since May 5, 2005. Our petition at the USCIS was accepted on August 12, 2005 and then sent to the US Embassy in London. Dan didn't get his packet to fill out until the end of November, was sent in mid-December (when I came to visit) and then we had months of dead air. He had his medical on March 10, 2006 and now here we sit watching September come around again. This wait is longer than any timelines I've seen for our K-1.

I can't seem to find any effective way to contact the embassy to find anything out about our status. We've both tried emailing (now I get automated response "THIS IS AN AUTOMATED REPLY. IF YOU WERE ASKED TO USE THIS ADDRESS, WE WILL RESPOND IN THE ORDER YOUR E-MAIL WAS RECEIVED. IF YOU WERE NOT ASKED TO USE THIS ADDRESS, YOU WILL RECEIVE NO FURTHER RESPONSE. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL.") and handwriting physical letters to send out and Dan has tried calling, all with no avail.

:help: Is there something we've overlooked or missed? Or is this wait time the new average? Does anyone have any advice or recomendations? I'm starting to worry about our case and our future.

Ummm no idea why the wait. Try calling the Department of State their number is 202-663-1225 to get directly through to an operator press 1, 1, 0. They can tell you the last entry on your case. Are you using Londonconsular@state.gov for the email address to London?

Maybe others have seen that response but that is a new one to me. Not doubting you but double check the address you are using maybe there is one letter swapped for another or something. Typically you get a generated response right after you email and it normally sais something like we have received your email please allow 3-4 days for us to respond.

That number is in the states, he is probably calling the one pound 20 a minute line that is as useless as t*ts on a boar hog.

yep, I got that rather stern email reply the other day, maybe it has to do with post-Aug 10 chaos perhaps?

He has not had his interview?

Sounds like the file has been mislaid.

Thank you for the welcome, and I called (three times because I got hung up on/disconnected twice) and apparently the last activity was on March 10, the day of his medical. It's under "processing."

And I have put the case number in the subject line.. But now with that instant response I don't know what good e-mailing them anymore will do (as if it was doing much for me to begin with). I guess I can just go back to waiting, and sending physical letters.

When did you get that 'processing' answer from them? March to September is an extra long time to go between return of packet 3/medical and an interview date.

Perhaps its time to involve a senator or congressman/woman. Maybe they can get some answers!

I just called early this afternoon and the woman I talked to was a bit surprised that it was still in that stage since March 10. Would contacting a congressman do anything? Has anyone done that before?

"Hey Russ Feingold, hows things going? Could you pull a favor in London for me?"

Dunno but I called Senator McConnell's aid yesterday faxed him what was going on with our delay, he said he would email them right away and oddly enough the visa is on its way today. Perhaps only a coincidence but hey we got what we wanted. Call your congressman or senators office, tell them you need to speak with someone who deals with immigration and go from there. You most definetly deserve an answer at this stage!

Wow, I got a response from the embassy today. Apparently we were missing form IV-15 but they never choose to get in contact with us to let us know. Fabulous. But they did give me a time line as to when to expect a call for an interivew once they receive the form. Good news, then! He might be here around Christmas!
