There is a list of suggested documents in the I-130 instructions, for instance, a joint bank account. Good luck.

The thing is we can't open a joint account now since I have to close my bank account to get all money for paperwork. We will be really broke after this application because my medical stuff is a ripoff.:(

Make sure your civil surgeon doesn't try and give you any vaccines that aren't REQUIRED. Mine definitley reccomended some that were unncessary and when I called him on it, he said "well I've seen people getting turned away without it." I followed up with questions about what standards he is supposed to be applying and he finally agreed that I didn't NEED a certain vaccine. Honestly, I was fuming. Why would they try and give people unnecessary vaccines? Seemed like a money making scheme. If you get only what's needed, that should keep costs lower.

As for your evidence of a marriage, I'd certainly make sure you get some good stuff. Marriage license, obviously. Include photos of you together showing the progression of your relationship. Joint health insurance, joint bank account, joint auto insurance. Sworn affidaivats from people who know you both well and know your marriage to be valid.

I had the option to be tested for what vaccines I needed to keep them to a minimum.

I really hate my civil surgeon who is a big fat liar. You know he made us pay $700.I wasn't supposed to take blood test for TB since I took TB skin test already and the blood test would turn postitive anyways.I was just supposed to take chest x ray after TB skin test.He knew that but he lied that I had to.I called some other civil surgeon in Milwaukee, they said he was wrong. It's absolutely a ripoff for us.Anyways, thanks God that I had chest x ray normal.

You should have shopped around before staying with that civil surgeon. Also, you should have asked him/her how much it would have cost to do the exam and then decide.

My wife had her exam completed for $190. Though she did not need a chest xray. So I can imagine that would drive up the cost.

1/18/11 - Advance Parole approved
1/26/11 - Biometrics Completed

Mine was $190 as well plus an extra $50 to see if I needed any extra shots.
