Clearing the cheque

Hi guys,

I know im being completely impatient (im hoping with the long wait ahead ill soon realise patience IS a virtue!) but im wondering how long it takes for them to clear the cheque for the I-130

Do they send it to the service center first, or do the cash it in Chicago?

They only recieved my packet yesterday, and im already refreshing online banking like crazy!

It took about 10 days for my K-1 check to be cashed.

You're in for a long road ahead. There is no use in obsessing over a check! There will be better things to obsess over later.

Although that might not be the advice you wanted, Jill and most of us that have waited out the first process have gotten a bit out of touch with the initial excitement. There are many things to obsess over during the wait and this is just the first.

Congrats on the wedding and mailing in the application. Check the timelines for more information that pertains to the CR1 process as a lot of the UK folk have gone the K1 route. The CR1 forum would also be a great place to look for information up until the embassy questions. Good luck and I hope you have a lot of patience - I didn't!

Woman! I never had initial excitement. Annoyance, nervousness, tweaky panic, and a very bad "I'll believe it's done when he's here attitude" were the majority of the emotions I had! Well, until I knew he was on the plane...then I was giddy

Ironically, moving on to the AOS status, I am just ready to be done with it all. It's exhausting. My co-workers keep telling me to send him back because the paperwork is too much of a hassle and I could hire a full time maid for less!

So Amy, get ready, immigration is a LONG ride. A long one.

I was INCREDIBLY excited. This was before we got married and I learned all of my pet peeves. Only joking.
