Guys,

I was printing all the phone calls history, skype chat history, msg history, I could literally make 3 books out of it.

and the situation made me concern about how much paper we are actually wasting through this process. And sadly, how many trees we're killing here?? After this process, all those paper goes to the garbage can.Have anyone thought of this?

So I'm suggesting here that please use the both side of the paper for all your phone calls history, chat history, and msg history. I'm sure that visa officers would understand that, and would actually like it because they know people like you would saving american's resource when you start living in the States.

Its not the money issue, you know, it's not like trying to save couple dollars, is just nobody likes to pay to cut those trees down to waste.

I condensed two and a half years of chat/calls, etc. to 30 pages. 1 sheet has a log of 30 calls/chats for each month. I put 2 Yahoo Messenger chat session samples on the back side for each month. I hope this is enought info to show we can, and we do talk almost everyday. Where I waste most of my paper, is after I proof read something, I usually find a mis type or wrong number. I found a problem with the Adobe Reader program, that sometimes it does not put in the date I type in, but would put in the current date. A found out to proof read several time before hitting the "print" button.

Umm...they likely don't go in the "garbage" - they are likely recycled. Use recycled paper and do your best to avoid RFEs...and more paperwork.

Far better to print only examples of how and how frequently you communicate. Anything they keep, goes in two-hole punched file your loved one will carry back to the US when they come. One page of chat log per month or every other month is plenty, along with maybe one chat transcript or email for each month. Save the trees by using examples, not printing on both sides. They'll hate you for making them stand on their heads to read your file.

Why does everything have to be kept? Simple enough to show it and then let them give it back if they don't want to file it. We want our chats for our own reasons not just to make life pleasant for a DOS employee.

They will decide what to keep and what not to keep, from what is presented to them. They might not keep or even look at your chats, logs or emails. If you're printing them for yourself, that's an entirely different matter.

I do not consider trees in the process. You can feel free to risk failure of your visa for a tree. I don't.

Exactly what we did. One page of chat log in small print for each month. Some email printouts. Some screenshots of you two having a video chat with smiling faces. Printout of phone calls made. That's what we included. No need to print an encyclopedia. Just enough to show how you communicate.

I used the better part if an entire case of paper. Trees grow back.

I had made and delivered earlier an entire packet to my (then) fiancee. Of course the one which had been sent and when I went for the interview I took TWO complete packets, one in checked baggage, one in carry on. I took it all to the interview, they looked at very little of it, kept even less and the rest went in the recycle bin. We got our visa with no questions asked...none. I was happy. I do not care if the trees were, they will grow back.

For the AOS, I did the same thing and with the same result, no questions asked, greencards approved. The trees will get over it. While I regret that some trees died to make paper rather than, say, nice furniture or a piano, oh well.

I will not be the one to recommend which evidence you do not bring.

It's great to try and be environmentally conscious during this process, however, I have to 100% agree with Gary on this matter. I printed at least an entire package of printer paper for the K-1. After I had the whole package together I made 4 copies of it. One for my fiance, one for me, one that was mailed off to be processed, and one that stayed with me, but went to relatives home. God forbid the government lose the paperwork and someone has a house fire, or a break in...

In this case I prefer the "It's better to be safe than sorry" mentality.
