I just found out a problem over the weekend. My wife was scheduled for an interview in Islamabad on the 19th,then they re-scheduled for 16th of Nov. and now Dec. 10......Look at the discipline.

My wife and I alongwith my two older kids (5 & 3) share the same last name (Sulehri). When my youngest daughter was born last year, my father registered her first and middle name but did not give her last name. I filed I-130 for everyone alongwith my youngest (eventhough) she did not have a last name. I just followed the birth certificate thinking that I will correct the name when my family comes to the US and apply for US passports. Meanwhile, my wife got a passport for my youngest in Pakistan and added last name for my youngest.I never knew about the last name's addition. Now the NVC does not have a last name on the petitions/forms/DS-230 but the passport has a last name.

So Embassay is expecting to interview Maria Khurshid but her passport is going to show Maria Khurshid Sulehri.....Sulehri being our last name. This is the problem. I asked my wife to get a new Birth Certificate with the same name as on passport which she did. What do you think I should do in this case besides e mailing the embassy.

hi oki26rashid this is not a big issue please do not change any thing because your wife document process has been complete and you got your interview schedule if you change any thing this things delay your wife visa process because your children name and date of birth already in NVC &DOS AND USCIS usa immigration data base and during your wife interview with consular officer . consular officer doubtful about this kind of change so in that case you have another option left when your wife give interview to consular officer and consular officer ask about name change your wife give explaination to consular officer about her son or daughter about name change what ever your story is if consular officer ask about prove and evidence about name change just provide at the time of your wife interview

I'd basically agree with Mustafa. As the individual concerned is an infant there can be no concerns about her having done illegal activities under the name they previously didn't know about, so they shouldn't have to do additional name checks or anything. This is however based on common sense, not on any knowledge about what the Embassy actually does. And I personally know nothing about the Pakistani Embassy.

hi rashid first of all i must say dont panic about passport include last name as i mention in my above post this is not a big issue for NVC DOS or uscis because as Joannav said in her post your daughter is infant child and NVC have no problem with infant child if your wife make another birth certificate collect evidence and proof about include last name in passport which mean why you include last name of your daughter after filed i-130 so here is a question which kind of prove and evidence you have to collect here is the simple answer so rashid your father write a affit daffit which is something like that let suppose for example my name is xyz iam a father of mr rashid and my ID CARD NO IS THAT-----------------i give name my son new born baby iam registerd my son infant daughter who born last year who first and middel name is dash dash dash date of birth is dash dash in birth registerer dept when i obtain birth certificate of my son infant new born baby daughter in the certificate mention only first and middel name and after that my son filed i-130 petation for his wife and childern including infant new born baby who birth certificate is mention only first and middel name but sometime later i decide to give my son new born baby daughter last name and then i decide to go again birth registerer department to include her last name in her birth certificate and obtain new birth certificate my son new born baby so that why my son new born baby passport have include last name and remember when you obtain affit daffit of your father write whole detail in goverment of pakistan stamp paper and then notrazied and stamp grade 1 officer these type of stamp paper easily available in any lawer office and out side the civil court and this affit daffit is the rock solid proof or evidence during your wife interview with consular officer when consular officer ask to your wife about your new born baby last name and your wife easily give the proof to consular officer about name change
