hello everyone, I married my husband in june of this year, I am a citizen of usa by birth, he is from the United Kingdom, we meet 2 years ago. While he was visiting me here in usa we decided to get married. A couple of weeks later we went and got the paperwork for ajustment of status......he had to go for a physical before we could submit the paperwork....after the appointment it was our anniversity for first month. We decided to celebrate in canada. We went for the day. upon retruning to usa from canada, border crossing refused his entry back into usa after searching car and finding our marriage license. His stay was not up until aug 2nd which was a couple of weeks away. they refused him to come back, sending us back into canada saying we needed to go to embassy and apply for different visa seeing we were married. Well. wait to get appointment was 3 months, so we ended up getting him emergency flight back to UK. Upon returning to usa I applied for1-130 after getting letter then I filed1-129f AUG8th, 2010. On Nov 2nd recieved letter case was being sent to texas center for processing. This is where we are now on our case. Of course I cry everynight......a nightmare...but I have faith. Can someone tell me how long this will take. also I got motice nov 2nd case was tranfere to texas for processing.

It is unfortunate that the implications of, for example, taking a one day trip to Canada whilst trying to adjust status are not better advertised. I feel your pain, but take heart. It may feel like an eternity, but in the grand scheme of your lives it will be but a blink until you will be reunited forever.

I think they have transferred some cases to Texas because Texas is moving faster than the other service centres. It is unfortunate that right now seems to be an exceptionally slow period. I would hope for a January approval of your petition, and then maybe a month at NVC and 1-2 months in London. It could however be longer. It is better to be prepared for a longer wait than to expect the shorter time. (And yes, it could of course also be shorter than I say, but do not hang your hopes on it.)

Make sure that you are prepared for the later steps of the process, so that once the time comes you can move as quickly as possible. If there are any things you enjoy doing on your own, then try to make the most of this time and do those things. If financially possible, arrange to meet your husband sometime. Canada might be a possible meeting point. I hope your application moves along soon, and that the rest goes smoothly.
