over 65,000 murdered hindus muslims and christians in sri lanka would disagree, and the ones who weren't murdered but have had thousands of their temples, mosques, and churches destroyed by buddhists would probably disagree too.

Any religion can be taken and twisted to suit objectives of those who wish harm upon others.

Often times religious conflicts are really just about domination and control, religion is often used as a context to dehumanize the opposing side.

Jehovah's Witness - they are pacifists, but are pesky and annoying.

could it be argued that their stance on blood transfusions is basically criminally negligent homicide, esp in the case of minors, if it leads to death?

Hmmm....good question. I think you could make a compelling argument with that.

..........

How about Hare Krishna's? They wear sandals so they can't be that dangerous.

based on the way my friend beats on my door, i wouldnt want to fight her

as far as "violence", i would disagree with this but more so on a legal/civil type thing rather than a war/battleground type thing. they will attack ruthlessly in court, excommunicate their own child for JW rule breaking, beat a child for things such as partaking in christmas tree trimming at a christian grandparent home during visitation....

so yes, they can be violent

This is a bait thread.

lol does that mean we shouldnt reply to any of your threads either

-------------

seriously though, "religion" is not violent, "people" are violent... at times people can become quite animal-like or (IMHO) worse than animals becasue we have the brains to be more intelligent than animals and choose not to use that intelligence.

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.
