Hello All!

I have a quick question. I applied for AOS the last week of October. I received my NOA texts within 5 days and got my hard copies a few days later. I was then touched on November 4th then nothing. From lurking around, I've noticed that generally people get their Biometrics letter a few days after the NOA letter. I'm starting to worry a bit. I called the Customer Service line today and the Rep said I have to wait 30 days before they'll check into it. My current EAD card expires in January, and I wanted to make sure that I can keep my current job. Has anyone had a lag of sorts between their NOA and Biometric letter and gotten their EAD card within 75 days? Thanks!

Some people have not been getting their biometrics letters on time, and then they have put in service requests (after 30 days) and gone to their appointments, and then get their EAD gets approved the same day they have biometrics. In other words, a late biometric appointment won't necessarily hold up the EAD timeline overall... it sort of has a way of evening itself out. Maybe that touch was a background check. It sucks not knowing, I know... good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

It took about almost a month after I got my NOAs for my Biometrics Appointment to come in the mail. :) Just had my biometrics taken yesterday. I hope yours come soon.

here goes.....my opinion again.....

with interview dates and biometrics there is no "normal" processing time, standard or overdue dates for when you are scheduled. Some people get it sooner, some get it later, it all depends on the local USCIS office that is in charge and what their workload is like. I have filed like you back in October, mid October actually, but haven't received any word on an appointment yet - why, it looks like my local office for fingerprinting has no appointment openings right now.

Be patient, it sucks, but that's the way it goes :(

We applied in August and didn't receive biometrics until end of October - along with a bunch of other people in our region, our area is backlogged. Once we received biometrics my husband did a walk-in without issue and his EAD card was ordered for production that afternoon - I believe waiting for the biometrics was the only hold up and everything else had been screened. Like someone else said, it often evens itself out.
