does anyone have example of word document of how you two met? is it required in the 1st time form submission?

thank you so much!

This question is best answered in the amount of space given on the form to supply the answer. Two to three sentences will do... Mine said something along the line of...

"I met "Name Here" on "Date here" in "Location Here" while "Activity Here", and a very brief explanation of what we did together on that day.

As for the "Activity Here"... I made it a point to show why were in the same place at the same time. Vacation for me, J-1 Visa for her.

It IS required with the initial I-129F filing. Question #18.

Mine just said: "Vanessa and I met in person in October 2008 when Vanessa travelled to the United States and stayed in Houston, Texas with me for sixty-five (65) days before returning to Australia."

I should mention - no RFE's and no delays. No problems at all.

Always great to hear from someone who has actually finished this step of the process. Thanks Vanessa&Tony, and to the OP... Good luck!

P.S. My name is Tony too.

Here it is...

"While returning from a trip to Odessa, Ukraine I had a layover in Prague, CZ Republic. I met Alla at the airport while waiting in line to buy bus tickets to the city" That's it.

I attached ONE photo of us together and our passport stamps for that trip (since Alla was not from CZ Republic I also had to prove SHE was there, since we had no idea when we met that we would get married she did not keep her boarding passes)

We actually met several times after that and before we filed the I-129f some 6 months later, BUT I did not mention those visits. No need to.

I DID mention them in our "evidence of relationship" for the visa interview but not in the petition.

Yes it is required and is Question 18 on the 129 form. The size of the box is indicative of the length of answer they are looking for, meaning very short, not a page or a book.

Ours, somewhat from memory:

"Alla and I met online and began correspondence using emails, phone calls, text messages and Skype online video conferencing. On Feb, 14, 2009 we met in person in Kiev, Ukraine for 10 days."

Our supporting evidence supports the dates of the meeting. That's it. No need for anything more than this. Keep is short.

They don't care about your relationship, that's for the interview, they only care if you really did meet in person.
