I got my GC i n Feb and in Dec i'm going to Brazil to spend the Holidays with my parents, i'll be staying for 11 days.

My question is: do I need to bring my marriage certificate with me?

I got here in June 2009 and got married 10 days after i arrived.

Since this is my first time travelling with my GC, i don't wanna do anything stupid.

I apreciate guys

The only reason you would need your marriage certificate is if your passport and GC have different last names and you're worried that you might get questioned about the discrepancy. The marriage certificate documents the name change and provides a "bridge" between the two documents.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Having a passport in your maiden name and a GC in your married name is a very common situation. If the pictures are both obviously of you there should be no problems. It's a one-in-a-million shot that you'll even be questioned about it.

That said, if it's reasonably easy to pack a certified copy of your marriage certificate, there's no real reason not to, just to have that extra piece of mind.

But it is very likely to not even matter.
