Union members are used to paying dues, but many may not know exactly where their hard-earned money goes.

Unions are big businesses; they can rake in hundreds of millions of dollars a year. They do it by taking dues directly from their members’ paychecks. In 28 states, workers cannot even say no.

Union financial filings reported to the Department of Labor show that many union officials have salaries well into the six figures. The NEA has over 400 employees making over $100,000 a year; the Laborer’s union has 16 employees making over $250,000.

Most of the top labor organizations in the country spend more on politics and administration than they do on representation. The NEA’s D.C. headquarters is worth over $110 million and the AFL-CIO’s building is valued at over $90 million.

Union boss salaries and lavish D.C. headquarters demonstrate a stark contrast between their lifestyles and the standard of living of their members.

Anyone notice where the companies and jobs are moving to and leaving?

Jobs are getting automated or sent to China. But that would happen with or without unions. American workers expect to be paid more than the average Chinese laborer... and machines, well only need maintenance once and awhile.

Even if labor gets more expensive in China. China will see its jobs get outsourced to somewhere that will work for even less.

The laborers union has over 80,000 members...so it has 16 members making over $250,000. Who gives a rats ####### about that other than some rat scab who has a hard on against the unions for the fact he/she couldn't cut it in the skilled trades, or he/she is from the south where rats are loved almost as much as outfits like "Labor Ready" who is full of illegal immigrants.

You want to post about something that is worth two sh*ts when it comes to money ? Here try this one one on for size and then compare the numbers you posted verses the ones at the bottom of this post.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Many jobs do go to China maybe but many companies are moving to other states and mostly in the south. I just went to the new KIA plant on the border of GA and AL. It is huge and they spent over a billion dollars there. Near by in Both states there are also new warehouses and shops sprouting up to supply this huge place. Many businesses are moving to the lower cost states. It is a shown that many of the places that are now my big customers are now in the open shop states and not closed and having to be union.

The members of the laborers union? I know about half of my trade union friends are pissed off that the unions don't take care of their members, but expect them to keep coughing up that money to elect folks that are killing union jobs.

The other half of my trade union friends think the Democratic Party has a divine mission to save the world from the evil Republicans, and they have no problem with it at all.

But, I do notice that the ones actually working belong to the first group, while the ones belonging to the second group wouldn't know a day's work if it slapped them in the face.
