Hello to all,

I am new to this site. I have been reading other people's experiences and i have learned alot from it.

My wife andI filed for the AOS in May and we received the yellow RFE to send my wife's Tax Returns. We didnt send anything at that time. So we had the second RFE which was the Pink paper. We then send her last pay stubs, a letter explaining that her mother had claimed her on her taxes. She she was only working part-time and attending school full time. We recently got this email:

Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On November 16, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Howlong do we have to wait for the Interview.

Any response will be appreciated.

Thanks

There is no interview for employment authorization. In a few days you'll have your card.

Click on "Immigration Timelines" at the top of this (and every VJ) page and then on the type of AOS you filed and you can see the historical data for people filing in your office. You should also complete your own timeline so people can see how your AOS process is coming along.

Can you go into a little more detail about the RFE's and your response?

You said you didn't send anything in response to the first RFE. Is this correct?

You also said you got a second RFE, and in response you sent some pay stubs and a letter explaining that her mother claimed your wife as a dependent on her tax return. Is this correct?

Did you submit an I-864, signed by your wife, at any time? If so, was your wife's annual income (on the I-864) under $18,212? Did you submit an I-864 from a joint sponsor at any time?

I ask these questions because, based on what you've indicated so far, it sounds like you might be asked to provide a joint sponsor's affidavit of support at the interview. If you haven't already submitted an I-864 from a joint sponsor, then you should get one lined up before the interview. You'll be pressed for time if you wait until the interview, and get another RFE.

Hello,

I have a joint sponsor, my wife didn't send the I-864 that's why we got the RFE. But we submitted it afterwards and i have my EAD Card now. Because they said my application for Employment couldn't be cmpleted without my wife's I-864. I am just waiting for my interview letter now.

You can have a look at my timeline and interview experience to get an idea of what to expect in Los Angeles. :)
