Thank you all for your help; I haven't done this before so I get confused sometimes.

My question is, do we have to send our forms with all the instruction pages?

Ok guys, we are sending in our application and my question is that, at the 'from' section of the money order,

whose name should be on there; is it mine or my husbands? since I'm the one filing for him.

Thank you.

It's not important. Your name would be fine. A personal check would have been better since you can determine when it's been cashed, but no matter.

You are filing the I-130 for him, and you are submitting an affidavit of support for him, but he is filing the I-485 for himself.

Ok, so are you saying that my name should be on the one for I-130 and my husband's name the one for the I-485?

No, he said it doesn't really matter whose name is on the money order.

This is correct. It doesn't matter, and USCIS won't care. If there's a memo line on the money order then you could write your husband's name on the memo line, if you like.

My previous statement was only meant to clarify a point - you said "since I'm the one filing for him". I agree that you are filing the I-130 and I-864, but you cannot file the I-485 for him. He is the one who is asking for adjustment of status, and he is the one who must sign the form. Even if you're preparing all of the documentation, you can't technically file the I-485 "for him". But again - USCIS doesn't care whose name is the money order. I signed all of the checks for my wife and step-kids AOS, but they had to sign the forms because they were the ones who were filing them.

Thank you sir. I have another question and it's about the fee for the I-485; how do I buy it, is it $1000 plus $70 like the previous one

used to be $1000 plus $10? Do you have any idea how I should go about this?

Thanks.

It's never been $1000 plus anything. It used to be $930 for the AOS plus $80 for biometrics, for a total of $1010. Now it's $985 for AOS plus $85 for biometrics, for a total of $1070. There's also a $420 fee for the I-130. The check or money order is cashed before the two petitions are separated, so you can either pay everything with one check or money order, or write separate checks or money orders for each petition. It's up to you.
