Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the affidavit of support my fiance sent me. On item 11 (I intent or do not intent to make specific contributions...) he checked intent and explained that I, the beneficiary, will receive any help I'm required, funished house, money, as his fiancee/wife forever or until he dies.

I've seen the example forms here and it was supposed to be left blank and state "N/A filling with k1 visa for permanent residence.

My fiance already filled another form but I'm afraid I'm not going to get it before the interview on november 30. What do I do??

Just fill out a new form and print it out. Or have him do it, sign it and scan it in and email to you. Yes, that should be left blank.

Thank you but what about his signature? It has to be original.

FedEX overnight will get it to you in 2-3 days. The money will be worth it.

It's fine the way it is. I actually prefer checking "Intend" with some general statement that the petitioner will fully support the beneficiary as their fiancee and spouse.

Thank you guys. I will talk to my fiance and ask him to send it again in a faster way. If not, just leave it the way it is and explain it to them. Don't know what can happen.

You REALLY are better off to leave it the way it is.

There's nothing really wrong with the way in which he has answered it to be perfectly honest. His intent is very clear in his answer and although certain embassies have preferences as to how Q.11 is answered I seriously doubt any CO would have an issue with that answer.

Ok... I now want more information on this topic. For those of us who have already completed and submitted the I-134. Did you enter "N/A Filing with K-1 Visa for Permanent Residence" or "Intend to..."?... and what was the outcome of your interview?

As you correctly stated it should have been left in blank, however don't think it is a big deal that he filled out his intent to support you in detail. I think you will be fine. Don't worry.

Ohhh thank you so much for your replies! It really helps and makes me feel more relieved. Those who have already been through the process and asnwered the item 11, please was everything ok?

I did and I have a greencard now. it's better to write "intend" in my personal opinion. He did it the correct way.

It should not have been left blank. Please feel free to correct me and show me where in the instructions it says it's supposed to be. The VJ example form has it like that but I disagree with it (as do many many others).

If it was SUPPOSED to be left blank, I and all the thousands of other people that select "intend" wouldn't have their greencards now. I have never received an RFE and certainly didn't for that. In fact, I know people that have selected "do not intend" and have still had no problems.

100% no issue with writing "Intend" and "I intend to support Vanessa indefinitely and marry her within 90 days of her entry into the United States". Never questioned at all.

As I stated, I have never received an RFE. Either for the K1 or AOS.

You REALLY are better off to leave it the way it is.

Agreed. I personally think it looks better. The K1 isn't allowed to work so how to you expect them to support themselves if you "do not intend" to support them? Seems pretty obvious to me that it should be "intend" given that a K1 can't work...

Thank you so much again! Now reading my post I just realized I didn't mention one thing. Also on item 10 'I have submited a visa petition..." He put None. Does that change anything? He thought it was refering to a previus petition and it seemed pretty obvious for him that since he I'm named on item 3, item 10 was not refering to the present petiton.

Mine actually has my name in it. I don't know if that's a deal breaker though because I do agree that it seems pretty obvious. Worst case scenario you'll get an RFE about it... then he just needs to send you another one. Not a huge deal.

**fingers crossed** other people don't think it's an issue either.
