Automated message... WRONG???

I got my NOA2 last week 11-8 and have been trying to call NVC to see if they have received my file. The automated system keeps saying that it has no record of my file. So I decided to wait to speak with an operator just to make sure. He told me that my file was forwarded to the embassy today! I’m starting to doubt him because the automated system said they haven’t received my file. Also, it is almost too fast. Has this happened to anyone?? Do I trust the operator or the automated system??

I would trust the operator of the automated system (although neither is ideal). The online and automated updates are not always right. Our K-1 visa which was approved in April still says pending a decision.....lol.

My K-1 was only at NVC for 2 days. When I called it said I was not in the system. I called DOS and they said my case was sent to my embassy already 2 days ago and they said my case already had an embassy case number as well. They gave me the case number over the phone.

We experienced both automated system and web problems. Our K-1 case number update status online showed "in process" for months after my wife was here in the US already. I would rely on what the operator told you - and call back to get your file number for the embassy from NVC.

You dont get an NVC number you get an embassy number.
