hi to all,

please can some body tell me that because of my lack of income and lack of credit the lender refused to put my name on the mortgage of our new house. however ,my name is on the "joint tenancy with the right to survivorship" document. i just wanted to know will that be enough to show the joint ownership of our new house. will appriciate your response .thanks.

It should be. If you have any written documentation that proves the denial of your name addition, include a copy of that as well, otherwise, the document you are talking about should be good to add in the evidence.

You'll be fine. I am not on the mortgage or the deed to our house either and it wasn't a problem. I did include bank statements showing the mortgage payment coming out of our joint account with the line item highlighted, and also explained the reason why I wasn't on the mortgage/deed in a cover letter. What you have will be fine ( - as long as it is well supported with other type of documentation, of course!) :) .

Wow, so I am not alone after all! Lender shrugged me off too! I am sure it will be okay so long as the rest of the evidence is strong. I'm sure USCIS has seen many cases before of new residents who can't get their names on the mortgage.

I didn't even attempt to put my husband on the mortgage when we bought our new house because I knew it would hold things up. Alone, I got a pre-approval letter in 15 minutes and we were able to land a sweet deal that was time sensitive. I'm not going to worry about it because we have plenty other proofs.

To the OP-- "Joint tenancy with the right to survivorship" means you legally share the asset and if one dies the other gets full ownership. That's great proof of co-mingling assets.
