I agree that common sense is lacking in most of the fraud cases. I am not against the "love at first sight" premise. I knew right away that my wife was the missing piece of my puzzled life. She took a while to feel the same though. We were engaged for almost 5 years before we married. Nothing wavered through the entire 5 years. I think statistically speaking that another good question to ask would be how long the couple was together before taking the plunge. I see many many couples on here that met online, had one face to face meeting, and bingo bango, filed the K-1 petition. As I said, I don't discount that you can find true love at first sight, but if said lovey is from a developing country, common sense must come into play. As also stated above, gut instinct is important too. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck.....yeah, it's pretty much a duck. I like to apply an analogy I was taught a while back while on Temp Duty in Las Vegas. As some people know, prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas. We were all briefed that if a girl walks up to you in a bar, and starts talking to you, and you know she is out of your league, move along. She is a working girl. Same thing could technically apply when it comes to attractiveness. I wonder all the time what my wife sees in me, but when we are together, it makes no difference. We are soulmates, and equals, bringing out beauty in each other that noone else can. Rant over......hope I didn't get too far off topic. :)

hello everyone, i hope its ok if i put in my 2 cents, i think as long as marriage is a way out of a bad situation, people will abuse it . ask yourself what would you do to escape a situation that was really bad, i mean if you felt you were trapped, slowly starving, or oppressed in some way, or maybe to help your children? would you lie?, cheat?, steal?. I know these are not the only reasons people do it, alot of it is just selfish reasons. But until we can read minds this will continue to happen. Just my opinion.

you make some good points !
