Now that I got the wings stroking each other instead of trying to fly, then maybe we can get this dodo learning to walk.

Libertarians are on the fringe. They will never be mainstream because their views for the most part are impractical or just fanciful lunacy (see anarchy).

Wrong. The Libertarians are on the fringe. It is the independents that decide elections. The way to get them to decide who to vote for is to offer them the most for their vote. Once it was less taxes that they saw as a way to bring in more money from the paycheck. Then it was what they perceived as free health care that was to be paid by the rich. Now they are swinging back to not being taxed and saw that a huge deficit meant they were going to have to start paying as no way even the rich can pay all that money back.

Want to win the election then offer the independents the most personally for their vote. The true Socialist thinking will always vote left and the most conservative will always vote to the right.

While your statement is true it misses the question of not "how" they vote but "IF" they vote.

When people feel their issues are not being represented... they simply tend to stay home.

I think we saw both sides of this in the recent elections.

I think you are wrong. Of course I am sure not all are like me but I vote every single election no matter how small. I know for sure that my ideas and issues will not get addressed and have no chance of succeeding but I vote anyway my choices. (Well except when I vote for Ron Paul my congressman) The D's or R's by the name mean I will not usually get what I want done as they are one and the same. I know voting Libertarian is pretty much a lost cause as they will garner few other votes but I at least will not be holding my nose and voting the least of two evils.

If people stay home because they feel it is a waste of time then we deserve what we get.

I am not talking about the Libertarian party, but the libertarian ideas of less government, and less imperialism abroad. There are libertarian wings in both parties, represented by the Blue Dogs in the Democrats, and this election, the Tea Party for the Republicans.

I knew you weren't I was talking about what I had referenced only and used my example only to show why I think he was wrong or at least wrong in my case.

Which Blue Dogs have supported ending the War on Drugs? Which ones were for open borders? I think you're confused about Libertarian ideology.

I think this holds true for average citizens, not for activists. I would be very interested to know what the voter turnout ratio for libertarians was. In recent history, they have turned out in droves, despite being marginalized.

And confused about the Tea Partiers being Libertarian. They are far from Libertarian.

There are a lot of overlapping members. Find me a Libertarian who doesn't identify with tea party causes and I'll BBQ you a unicorn brisquette.
