Hi to all! Arrived Los Angeles (LAX) last night! Finally with my fiancee now. So different and really need to adjust now. The MNL-LAX (Philippine Airlines) direct flight is the best. Its the smoothest flight ever for me. Its fast, in 12 hours I arrived in LAX from Manila. It's so good because the flight is at 10pm, when I board, we had our dinner served then at 12am we slept then woked up at around 6am. From 6am to 10am I watched movies without knowing that we arrived already. I suggest that you take this flight! I got it $850.00 from a travel agent. Booked it 2 weeks before my flight.

After POE? What will I do now? SSS? Marriiage License? Wedding? Help. Thank You!

Sheena recieved her visa today and also completed the CFO.I'm looking looking at airfare now and she should fly in the next week!!!

She texted me that she threw up after visa was delivered. Apparently when she is extremely angry of happy this happens. LOL.

November 2009- Met online

May 13,2010- Visited in Cebu, Philippines

July 01, 2010 I-129f mailed to Cali

July 06,2010- USCIS confirmed delivery

July 12,2010- NOA-1

July 21,2010- file touched

Nov. 19,2010- NOA2 Approved!!!!

Nov. 24, 2010- NVC received

Nov. 30,2010- Hardcopy recieved in mail

Nov. 30, 2010-case number received from NVC via phone

case forwarded to Manilla

Dec. 06, 2010- paid Visa fee at BPI

Dec. 07,2010-Embassy recieved

Dec. 28, 2010- Appt. finally scheduled

Jan. 11,2011- Medical exam

Jan. 18,2011- Interview APPROVED!!!

Jan. 19,2011- Visa printed

Jan. 22, 2011- Visa delivered

Jan. 30, 2011- Guam

Hi to all...We are planning to get married on the first week of February in Las Vegas. Can we get marriage license there even though I don't have Social Security Number Yet? Help...thank you! When can we get the SSN? What are the requirement for a K1 Visa holder to get Social Security Number? thank you!

I had that exact same plan when Meg would arrive here maybe in March, but quickly changed my plans upon visiting the local social security office here in Arvada, Colorado. What they told me is that if you get married before you get your social security card, you will lose your K-1 status, and you will have to wait 8 months until your AOS is complete. I know it sounds silly, but every Social Security office in every state interperts the parameters for this rule differently.

I would do some leg work before you plan your wedding in Las vegas and make sure you will be able to get your SSAN as soon as you get married. I would not advise you on getting married before you secure your social security card, you can do it but you may have to wait to get your SSAN.

By the way, Meg passed her interview yesterday, and we plan on her arriving in Las Vegas in mid March. We will wait 2 weeks and get her social security card, then fly to Vegas to get married.

missing this site already. its been busy since I arrived here. still adjusting my life here in US. The weather is fine here in LA. Homesick in my first week but now I'm a little bit fine. Thanks to skype, I can still communicate with my family and friends in the Philippines. Hope everything is fine to all of you!

Hi all!

An update! Have been sooo busy with all the work over the last month..no time for VJ! Floricel and Abigail (our daughter) arrived in the US on January 12. We POE'd in Seattle after flying Manila>Taipei>Seattle. The flight was great (EVA airlines is great BTW) The POE was fairly quick, The officer asked Floricel all the regular interview type questions, and she was admitted to the USA. The next day we flew to Minneapolis, and I brought my girls home! They were both freezing in the cold weather here! We had to go out and invest a lot in cold weather gear. We then went about getting Floricel set up with a Doctor here, appointments, SSN, insurance, id card more clothes shopping, setting up our daughters room, more clothes shopping, meeting a lot of local Filipinas, etc.! We have been crazy busy over the last month! We were married in a small (very small) civil ceremony on Friday, February 11! We plan on having a big ceremony and party this summer after we get further settled in, the weather gets better, and our 2nd baby is born on March 21st. So far so good here in the US, the girls are adjusting and we have not had too much trouble!

I will be filing AOS soon....so will bee a lot more active here on VJ.

20-December-2010 Interview, USEM VISA APPROVED!

3-Jan-2011, Visa received

12-Jan-2011, POE SEATTLE WASHINGTON USA

11-Feb-2011, Married in Minneapolis MN : )

Hi everyone! :D Hope all is well! I apologize for not visiting VJ like i used to.I miss u all.:yes: anyways just want to share my updates,Dex got his SS # 2 weeks after arrival ,We went to SSA office and the process was very smooth (aside from a letter fr. our bank that we didnt use any SS # when opening joint acct,w/c is not hard to get).We are having our civil wedding ceremony this coming 22nd! (L)AOS will be the next step and i hope everyones journey is quick and painless.:blush:

04-16-11:USCIS lost our I485 forms thus received EAD rejection notice

04-18-11: mailed AOS packet AGAIN

04-19-11:AOS packet received by S. Bush

04-29-11: NOA1 hardcopies for I485 and I765 received :)

05-12-11:Successful walk in biometrics

05-25-11:email notification received stating interview on 6/24

05-27-11:hardcopy for interview received

06-24-11:done with interview.no approval yet

06-25-11: received EAD card

06-29-11:email received AOS approved and green card is on its way! yay! :)

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a good flight and an easy POE.

I got a chuckle from your comment about shopping for winter clothes. That's the first thing Chinook and I did when she arrived in Seattle during an unseasonably cold week in March. :D

hi guys. its been long time that i never make a reply and not joining forums. it feels great knowing that lots of filers are approved. 'am now in Aptos,CA and so far i am the only Filipina here that i've ever known. :))

i've never seen any or maybe in our nearby area there are. i got here last January 31st and now so far totally adjusted to the cold weather but not about timeframe. my body clock is still in Philippines!! this bothers me a lot because i do not have enough sleep though i try to make tired of myself. anyway, just happy to be here again on VJ!

all the names hereon are still the name present the last time i checked when i was still in Philippines.

Good work guys! hope i am welcome to join in..:))
