The 18th is the big day. Sheena completed her medical on Friday the 15th.They gave her medical results sealed to take with her to the Interview. CFO completed today at SMEF-COW quickly and without issue.

She will stay in Manila waiting for the Visa and then the CFO stamp. If I can fly her here as early as the 28th, I will.

Airfare isn't too bad right at $820 tax included from Manila into Kansas City. Three stops in between. I will update tomorrow.

Wow, $820 is not bad, what airline is Sheena taking, I had Meg do a price quote last week from PAL from CDO to Las Vegas thru Vancouver, and they want P47,000+, or $1100.+.

This seemed high to me. Meg is doing her physical tomorrow and her interview next week.

Let me know what airline you are using, did Sheena make the reservation or did you ?

Thanks

I have been monitoring airfares very closely lately, and through bookingbuddy.com - Expedia is offering $840 rates from Manila to Michigan consistently.

Cheapoair is about the same. Obviously there is a lot of variance between east coast and west coast arrival locations.

FYI, these are through Delta Airlines

Update!!!! Sheena had her Visa approved finally!!! She said the interview lasted about 3 minutes and he stamped approved on one of the forms before he ever asked any questions. The only thing that he asked to see was a few pics. He never looked at the 3 inch thick stack of texts and my Divorce decree was a copy of a certified copy but wasnt questioned.

The $820 price I found was with China airlines. If you fly into LAX they have a arrival at about 1130am so you have plenty of time to get east bound flights and there isnt a long layover in Tapei. Cost $645 w taxes.

From there she goes into Denver then Kansas City for $174 or directly to KC for another $65.00.

All of these prices I found. I havent booked because her visa was just approved on the 18th. I prefer to go to the Airlines website directly. Remember travel websites dont all have access to every airlines booking so you could be missing out on a better flight with lower cost. I flew China airlines in May and found them to be wonderful. Good food, courtious attendants, personal TV with free on demand movie library. I have no complaints.

Are citizens in the US allowed to book flights for a Filipina in the Philippines. I read somewhere where we could not book a one way ticket out of Manila to the United States. I could be wrong, or maybe it was something I read on Philippine Airline Website. So, can we book the flight and pay with a credit card here in the United States for our Filipina to come here ?

It shouldnt be a problem from the airlines website but from some travel sites (orbitz, booking buddy) you wont be able to.You just have to try and see.

I did it for Beth, no problem. But a filipina friend trying to book through PAL had problems. They would not book her flight without a visa.

Hi Everyone! POE at JFK was a success! Fiancee had her fingerprints taken and wasn't asked any questions. I don't know what the SOP is for the K1 entry but after the immigration officer stamped her I-94, we were directed to the passport control room and waited for additional processing. Didn't stay there for more than 5 minutes though. We were then sent our way to re-check our baggage. Once on the plane on our last flight to DC I asked to look at my fiancee's passport to see the notations that the immigration officer wrote and to my surprise, I saw that there was an "Employment Authorized" written on the back of her I-94 (valid for 90 days like the I-94)! Although, the alien # which I believe is my fiancee's had my name on it. This is the same as the notation shown on her passport under "Annotation". We were too busy being happy that everything went smoothly that I wasn't able to inspect the details of her passport and would have been able to ask an officer about this.

Anyways, I'm just glad everything went well and my fiancee and I are finally together! Goodluck to the rest! AOS journey begins!

Cheers!

For the scorecard, She was approved!!!!!!!

Her interview was yesterday and she was approved. 2 short interviews and they didn't ask for half of things we so carefully prepared. But better prepared than the alternative! Thanks for all of the help and support here. Now we are waiting for her to get her diploma by the end of march and she'll finally be here!

Hi to all! Arrived Los Angeles (LAX) last night! Finally with my fiancee now. So different and really need to adjust now. The MNL-LAX (Philippine Airlines) direct flight is the best. Its the smoothest flight ever for me. Its fast, in 12 hours I arrived in LAX from Manila. It's so good because the flight is at 10pm, when I board, we had our dinner served then at 12am we slept then woked up at around 6am. From 6am to 10am I watched movies without knowing that we arrived already. I suggest that you take this flight! I got it $850.00 from a travel agent. Booked it 2 weeks before my flight.

After POE? What will I do now? SSS? Marriiage License? Wedding? Help. Thank You!
