Nobody has mentioned anything about Firefox on this thread. It may be something to keep an eye out for.

Hello again friends! 1 more day left till I leave to the 'Pines...I have a question (maybe a stupid one) but I heard from my cuzin who recently came over on a visa (not sure if it was fiancee) that once the medical is done (passed) your fiancee has 2 months to enter the U.S once approved or else they will need to retake the medical again. I NEVER read anything about this so I was kind of skeptical about it. Wondering if any of you guys know if this is true? It's probably for another visa. :help:

From the USEM website.

What is the validity of the medical examination?

Medical examinations are generally valid for 6 months.

Walang anuman! :D

I don't know about all of your questions, but my impression also was that the UID is given when the fee is paid.

regarding DS-160 go to this link bottom of the page "Visa Categories Not Using the DS-160" http://travel.state....visa_categories

So CEAC barcode does not apply.

CORRECTION! CAN SOMEONE THAT KNOWS CHECK THIS FOR ME??????????

Is the DS-160 required for K1 Visa processing at the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines?

The Revised K1 Instruction Packet does not list it as a document that “You must bring”.

Do I assume that Since it is an on line form, I would not be “bringing” it?

Link to the Revised K1 Instruction Packet:

http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/306605/atienzalb/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3_.pdf

The Manila Philippines Embassy site on the link below, under Application Process, 2. Required Documents: specifically states that “All applicants must complete the DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application”

Link to information about Required Documents:

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhniv1.html#1

Link to the Consular Electronic Application Center for DS-160 Application:

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

The US Department of State site at the link below specifically states that the DS-160 is NOT needed for a K Visa.

Link to US Department of State site dealing with DS-160

http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4401.html#visa_categories

This site also gives good info on filling out the DS-160-FYI

So I am assuming that this is where the conflicting information comes from, some Embassies world wide do not require it, but US Embassy Manila does?

Can any of you that have been through the process here in Manila confirm this?

At least you got an appointment. I have been trying for three days. The BS continues. I called the Embassy this morning, they wouldnt help. I told them about my issues, and they said, sorry sir, lots of people are having trouble with the new system. They did confirm they have Floricel's case, and she is eligible to schedule an interview. I'm sorry sir, please call back in 24 hours....

I'm getting really really frustrated......Im calling my senator's immigration liaison tomorrow. Dont know if it will help, but we will see....

^^^Surprise...surprise...!!!...The Embassy admits everyone is having trouble with their new Frankensystem!!!

I'm glad they have your petition at the Embassy. That is a big step in the right direction.

Now...if the scheduling system would only cooperate and allow you to schedule an appointment...everything would be great.

What seems to be the trouble? Did you see messybrownhair's thread where she booked an appointment online?
