OK so we sent the Packet 3 forms by express post (whatever it is they have in Canada that gets the envelope there in 2 days with a tracking number), not DHL. We sent it on Nov 16th and received our Packet 4 this morning (the 30th). So mailing things to Montreal via DHL seems purely optional, do it if it's convenient otherwise don't worry about it!

I think for the most part the P3 instructions are the same for everyone, but just in case they ask you to send in something extra you may want to wait to have your P3 in hand... it took about two weeks to get it so you should hopefully get it sometime this week.

Still waiting for packet 3 aswell i havnt called to find out im just waiting it out, will have to go spend a day at my dads to print out all the papers and stuff (i dont have a printer) unfortunately hes gone on a cruise and will only be back on the 13th.

was just wondering abou the police certificate, is it necessary to go to a police station IN montreal for the papers or can i just go to my local police station andmake sure they do a cpic check?

You and I have the same NOA2 date and I haven't gotten packet 3 either. I know my case reached Montreal on the 26th so that means it's only been there 3 full business days as of today. I think we probably have another 1-2 weeks to go.

Really? Considering Montreal has streamlined the process and made it quicker, there's not too much to stress about anymore. Besides, if I get my packet 3 before you, that's going to be stressful anyway! I don't see what would hurt about being able to make a phone call or two just to make sure everything is on track and you'll receive the packet soon.

Not that I advise going against your fiance's back, but if you do want the Mtl #, you can just call NVC and ask for it. All you need is the WAC/EAC # and your name and birth dates.

Oh, of course I'll keep you posted. :) I can't remember if you're on my friends list already but if not, I'll add you right now.

Even though they have this new online thing with the interview dates being in march and by the time i get my packet 3 most likely april , doesn't seem to be speeding git up that much.. Thats quebec for you theres just something with this province making them always do the bare minimum, therefore always being slow. I guess it's our punishment for being *fake* french.

I guess what I meant by "quicker" was that there's less sitting around and waiting as compared to earlier in the year. CBM scheduled her interview a month after her NOA2. Montreal is speeding up at processing packet 3 and 4 it seems like.

I also opted out of DHL delivery and sent my P3 by XpressPost Canada. I live in Toronto and there is no DHL offices listed in the city (that really makes no sense to me) and the closest office is in Markham. I'd rather pay Canada Post to have my P3 delivered.

For a full list of DHL offices and instruction go to http://www.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_courier_information

Wow, the visa website is still showing January 19 as the next available interview date. I wish I was in a hurry because that would be amazing. I wonder why new spots opened up earlier?

Anyhoo, just as an update, I sent my packet 3 forms back to Montreal 1.5 weeks ago. I still haven't actually received the hard copy packet 3 in the mail from Montreal and they apparently sent it to me December 1st. I'm not THAT far from Montreal. Oh well, I'm waiting for DOS to pick up the phone right now.
