AOS/EAD submission help

Greetings one & All,

So I have finally arrived to the US, we have done the legal marriage & have the certificate with extra copies. Trying to build this AOS packet for submission but already hitting confusion & stress.

I-485: Asks for I-129F NOA2 along with copy of Marriage Cert, when or who got the NOA2 as I only have Packet 3 & 4 notices. Can I use them instead?

Submit an I-693? Initial evidence in I-485 instructions (Point 8) says that a K1 who had a medical examination within a year does NOT need to provide, only vaccination record.

In Part 1, what would the current USCIS status be?

Please help with these, I know these will only be the first questions of many, but I hope I can get it done soon.

Thanks in advance

Also, do you physically remove the I-94 from your passport & send this in or just a copy of it?

Please see the AOS guide in my signature. It will help.

The NOA2 was received by the USC. It's the notice that says "petition approved". You can't use the P3 or P4 stuff. Maybe the letter from the NVC... try and find your NOA2 first

I-693 - read the thread in my signature, it will explain the I-693 stuff.

Part 1 - your status is K1. See the example forms

I physically removed mine to photocopy it but you ONLY send a copy. If you have an interview they will take the original then.

If you had your medical within the last year no medical is required but you do need to have vaccinations transcribed over on to I-693 part 1,2 AND 5 IS ALL YOU NEED. You will need to make an appointment with a civil surgeon in your area find on USCIS site and have them transcribe over onto offical 693 they will seal it in an envelope and give it back to you this is what you send with 485. If you have DS 3025 vaccination supplement from the doctor who did the medical some have just sent that in and not been RFE'd but we didn't on the advice from ppl on here and went and had it transcribed over on to 693.

Current status is K1 and the expiry date is on your I-94 card. Hope this helps read the guides on here for AOS they are really helpful

Thanks in advance

First off send only copy of I-94 from your second post. Your NOA2 was your approval which was sent to the petitioner. Copy it, copy marriage cert,

Much appreciation & thanks for the advice. Now I know where to look for the NOA2 as I was concerned it was one of the things I gave to the Embassy.

Finding that making the cover page is helping with organising this whole thing.

No no. Part 2 (vaccination table) is all you need. Part 2 in it's entirety is the medical. You MUST specify the vaccination table ONLY when giving this advice.

Also, I-693 is not needed in every case. I personally think it's best, but it's not required for a K1 unless their shots are incomplete.

Still confused over medical now, you both say include I-693 but the instructions say if you are K-1 & had a medical within the previous 12 months of application only a vaccination record is required.

In my experience of these things, as long as you complete exactly how the official instructions say, you are ok. I understand more is better but only if required right?

You're confused. The I-693 vaccination transcription isn't a new medical, and is the "vaccination record" they mention (if your DS-3025 isn't up to date that is). The I-693 is the medical form yes, but if you have a read of the I-693 instructions, the FAQS, number 2 I believe it mentions K1's specifically and how only specific parts of the form are required for vaccination transcription (but not a full medical). I know it's confusing, the thread I wrote mentions this more in detail. Long story short you're NOT paying for a new medical, you're just making sure your shots are up to date and to do that you take your DS-3025 to a CS and have them transcribe the shots into the I-693.

Have a read of the AOS thread in my signature. It has example cover letters so you can make your list. It also has the entire document list which makes life a lot simpler too.

What do you mean "updated shots to complete it"? Did you get the shots here in the US AFTER having the panel physician medical in your home country? Or do you mean your DS-3025 is complete and you need no more shots 'cause that was done at the K1 medical?

I had to get a couple of top up (boosters) to complete my record. I had them done in the UK & completed there. This was because I had had them done in NZ but never had them completed as per US regulations

Okay so did they add this to the DS-3025 that you have? or do you have receipts/proof of these shots to include with your DS-3025?

Long story short, if your DS-3025 wasn't complete at the time of your K1 medical, and you got shots to "boost" things afterwards, like you've said, you will need to take the DS-3025 and proof of those shots to a CS who will transcribe the Ds-3025 and the new shots into the vaccination table of the I-693. I'm sorry but you HAVE to do this based on what you've written.

Myself for example, I was complete. No additional shots required after my K1 so I could have just sent my DS-3025 (I didn't just to be safe i had them transcribed into the I-693). If i had to have an extra shot after the K1, then I would have HAD to go get the transcription done.. just as you do now. You will get an RFE if you just try to send the DS-3025.

Well that sucks but rather go through with it than hit an RFE. So far haven't had any yet.

Just the time & confusion involved in this part of the process is incredible. Thank you for your answers.
