KISS:::: KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!!! lol Words to live by when dealing with border dudes from either country!! Answer their question, simple as that, never lie!! many times When i traveled to the USA they would ask me--purpose of my visit, business or pleasure, i would say Pleasure--that was it, as that is what they asked me! Then they would ask me If iwas visiting friends or family and I would state family, that was it!! And normally thats all I would say--KISS,lol And yes if they asked who my relaitive was, i would say my GF, which eventually turned into my wife, lol. My wife did pretty much the same thing when coming to Canada. My advice is down below in my signature! Border officials for the main part are not jerks--yes there are some jerks, but ever organization/forum has them,lol--they have an important job to do! Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Disagree. They're married and they entered together (or tried to). They'll be linked.

They may be linked but since the issue was with entering the US, he shouldn't have any problem entering into Canada. Since he will be returning alone to the US, he is the USC and again, no problems getting back to the US without his wife...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

Oh, and never never never lie to the officers. It makes things worse. Just be honest and know that you are not doing anything illegal. Have a good visit! :)

You are asking if you should deceive the USCIS. Others won't tell you plainly.

Points up ^^

My policy is always tell the truth. Maybe look into Nexus too.

NEXUS is a great idea.

Krikit,

Sorry I was in a rush earlier to get to work and i replied to the last post i saw. The funny thing is i actually did think about how i didn't say thank you to you.

Thanks though for your input. greatly appreciated.

Awww, I'm sorry, 2100. I was only playing. But thanks for the thanks. lol

YOU shouldn't be denied visiting Canada as long as you are telling the truth. Do not make up anything in hopes of making it easier. It won't. Your wife has been flagged and they will keep an eye on you for a little while at least I am sure.

Honestly your wife visiting the US with a lot of stuff is suspicious. If she couldn't prove she wasn't returning to Canada it makes sense she was denied.

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.
