Hello my name is Joe, I am new to VJ and am not sure how this forum works. I am sure that the questions that I am about to ask have been asked and answered many times over, but I am just not able to figure out how to use this forum properly. I am not even sure that if I receive replies to this post how I will find them, I am guessing to return to this same page? I have received an approval from USCIS Ca. that our visa application has been approved and forwarded to NVC. I have been living in Bangkok with my fiancée Sukanda since we first filed 5 months ago. I would greatly appreciate any advice on what happens next. We were denied a tourist visa 5 years ago and I am quite worried about the next steps in the K-1 process. When we go to the interview will they give us the paperwork required to fill out, or do we have everything in hand before we go to the embassy? I was able to find a list of questions that might be asked but not what forms would be required. I am concerned about the affidavit of support issue. I am receiving Social Security disability checks of $1750.00 per month. I believe it is above the poverty level that is required, but I am not sure. Also there could be an issue of SS canceling my disability sometime in the future, how would that look in their view about her becoming a public charge? I am also concerned about her ability to communicate, are we together for the interview? Would you advise that we hire a lawyer, would that increase our chances of success? I am sure that I am overlooking many possible problems. Please help. Thank you for your time and energy.
