Hello to all,

My finacee and i have put together all that we need for sending in for the K1. But i'm not sure on what the rules are for when i send it in. Can i use document protectors? Can I put it in a three-ring binder? I dont want to go through all this just to have it sent back because of unauthorized presentation. Any bit of help would surely be appreicaited. Thank you, and thank you all for all the help and advice you have given us.

Hi there.

Once i had all my documents together i punched the top of every page with two holes and used things we have here called "file fasteners" they individual fasteners that you bend out at the back to keep the pages together. Others have used one BIG paper clip or fold back clip to hold theirs together. What happens is when they receive your package they take it apart anyways and take what they need out etc. Don't waste your time on a three ring binder - i think that will be kind of hard for them to take off to take the pages they need out.

Maybe someone else has a better idea though?

Hope this kind of helps a bit.

Good luck with the process

Don't worry about a binder, they don't have time to be going through all that and as said before they pull it apart anyways. We had all our papers just paper clipped together in order of what was needed. No point stapling either makes it harder to pull apart. Just paperclips is fine and then I put mine in a business envelope addressed and 129f Petition name and so on and then inside another express envelope as we wanted it to get there quickly and efficiently.

I put mine in page protectors and in a three ring binder. Mine was not rejected for any unauthorized presentation. I kinda wish I had read other people's posts here before doing it, but I did have a peace of mind that if my packet got wet that my pages inside were mostly protected.

I used paper clips and binder clips. There are no rules.

I used paper clips, 1 or 2 medium size binder clips and a huge binder clip to hold the whole bundle together. Only thing I stapled was the plastic ziplock bag with photos onto a blank piece of paper (2 staples, very top left and right so if removed doesn't rip the bag).

As others said, don't staple documents/papers as it makes things harder/slower for USCIS workers.

We didn't use anything, we just placed the papers in the proper order. Don't get bent out of shape over it...it doesn't matter at all.
