Can anything be done, if the I-130 process is taking long

I applied for my wife in 2008 while i was a permanent resident, I become a US citizen in June 2010. According to USICS, my case has been upgraded

to reflect that i am a US citizen, but my I130 is still not approved. USCIS requested form G-325 for my wife and my attorney sent that form in the end of august.Over 2 months has passed and no word from USCIS on the status of my petition.

I am very discouraged at the moment, does it usually take this long.

I know of people who applied in march 2010 and their wife has already arrived in US

Hope it gets resolved soon, was wondering if there are others who are in the same situation as i am.

I would contact your congressman and senator. Request an inquiry on your behalf.

He says he has called and USCIS told him that it is still in process. I live in NY and i believe the Vermont Service Center is processing my petition.

I would get your congressman/senator to inquire. They usually have more pull than attorneys. :whistle:

Yea i agree..... i would contact the US senator in your state and choose the more famous of the 2 listed for your state. I did and was approved 4 to 5 days later... what do you have to lose?? try everything .....

10-26-10 NVC recieves our petition

10-27-10 NVC case # assigned..

11-02-10 DS-3032, I-864 Bill received.

11-02-10 AOS Bill paid.

11-09-10 IV Bill recieved

11-09-10 IV Bill paid.

11-15-10 Sent IV and AOS packages seperately via overnight mail.

11-16-10 IV and AOS packages received at NVC at 11:22am ..... Now the wait begins again :(

11-30-10 Both packages entered into NVC's system awaiting review.....

12-07-10 RFE. A simple fix , But i need to wait till replacement page of Ds230 arrives, then overnight the checklist stuff back to NVC.

12-15-10 RFE docs arrived via DHL from Judy...heading to the Post Office to overnight to nvc

Sorry to hear that you have been waiting for so long. I too have been waiting for my I-130 approval (NOA2) filed February 2010. We have tried it all Congressman, Senator and attorney inquiries. Each answer we have received is the same, case is on queue for an interview, to be patient and wait. Our was trsnsfered to a local office in Florida from CSC in June 2010. Hope you have better luck than us. Its defenetly worth a try to contact someone else for assistance.
