Had a friend call me yesterday to report on Tim's!! lol He resides in Calgary. He and a few others "think" that Tims may have recently changed their coffee ingredients!! They swear it tatses a fair bit different, and not for the better. I was back in July (Saskatoon) and didn't notice a change, he stated it has been just recent. What's this world coming to? lol Cheers

Well that sucks. I haven't been to a Tim's since the last time I was in Ohio. As far as I know, that's the closest there is for me.

well yes, that would bite big time. It would hardly be worth the drive to Kentucky, or West Virginia or Ohio, if they've gone and changed things again

I recall a few yrs back when they changed the donut making process. Cooked the donuts in a centralplant, freezed them (or something) and then sent them out to the stores, where they recooked them!! Noone said anything for months,then Tims let the cat out of the bag and everyone started to complain, lol

I find the Tim's in Canada and the Tim's in Ohio so different, must be the water or something but doesn't taste the same.

Yes i noticed the same between Canada Tims and Rhode Island tims!!

And I noticed the same between Tims in Canada and Tims in Michigan back in 2002 - the Canadian was by far better!

Okay,

just did a quick survey of Tim Horton's website - they did have a news announcement when they changed their donut processing - but there is absolutely nothing about changing their coffee formulations - no media, no news stories or news releases or anything under products or ingredients. One thing they are doing that will make a lot of people here happy is that they are expanding into the US! Yay! Unfortunately, they are moving mainly west and not South so it may be a while yet before I find any here in Georgia.

We found the coffee flavor across the border to be quite a bit different as well. Canada is definately better although the cups we had this past Thursday at CFB Petawawa tasted not so good...weaker than normal. <shrug>

My husband swears the chocolate on the boston cream doughnuts its different and prefers that states' version better.

God I could sure go for a turkey bacon club with Tim's sauce right about now <sigh>

I did notice that a lot of foods in general taste better in Canada.

And don't even get me started on the differences a few miles make in the taste of alcohol......

I was at timmy's a few days ago... didnt notice any change.. but HMMM maybe they are just tricking the canadian market

Maybe one tastes the coffee more in Calgary due to the absence of contaminants (in the water)?

Coming from Saskatoon I would be a bit biased and say that how could Tim's in Calgary POSSIBLY taste like that of Saskatoon??? haha Probably oil in the water there....hehe

Well my friend is a former saskatchewanite, lol We grew up in Prince Albert. Maybe he just had a few bad batches from the various Tims around Calgary!! But later down the rd if u hear about an ingredient chg, you heard it here first! lol

I didn't notice much of a difference in the coffee taste when I stopped once in Ohio, but it was only once, and I was jonesing really bad, so I wouldn't have noticed anyway

A cousin of mine once noted however that when he stopped in Ohio once on his way home from Florida, he said the coffee was horrible, and had obviously been sitting in the pot for quite some time. That could be the difference, I know that Tim's in Canada always had a policy of no pot over 20 minutes old (that was years and years ago before Wendy's bought them). I don't think the US stores have the same policy.

*sigh* I miss donuts.
