AOS interview after VAWA approval

I had filed for my VAWA in May 2009, it got approved this July 2010. I had a biometrics test on Sep 29, 2010. I had an attorney who was helping me do my paperwork, she withdrew from my case in September 2010 because she moved from the State. She told me that she has notified the USCIS and that now I will be receiving any further correspondence.

She emailed me yesterday that I have the AOS interview on Dec 2, 2010 and that the notice got mailed to her.

My questions is that I have been reading that we have to get medical tests before the interviews, but I haven’t been notified, should I still get them done with a civil surgeon listed on the USCIS website? And now that I don’t have an attorney, how should I prepare for the interview. Do I really need an attorney for the interview?

Any input will highly be appreciated.
