Instead of wasting the visa, I would look for another lonely person and ask the embassy to remove the visa from one passport and place it on the other person's passport and life will go on just as fine.

You're kidding, right?

Either you're kidding or you've found a big baggy of mary jane and aren't sharing with the rest of us.....

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

The reason i say all this and tell my story is because i think people on here should know about the hard times and not just the joy of getting a visa. Ever since i got it our relationship went down hill due to the fact that it became real. We were going to get married and she had enjoyed all the plans and dresses. I think its something we should all think about.

:thumbs: It's easy to get so focused on just getting the visa because it takes so much of our energy, patience... I commend you both on being strong enough to realize your situation and facing it now. Hope that both of you know whatever is the right path to take. Peace.

I remember this cretin now.....

"Does having USC's baby mean auto-approval?", claiming to have AIDS and not telling anyone about it, and then this gem.....

"I read somewhere that people have to prove they have been together for the last few years and have a continuing relationship when they apply for the fiancee visa. Is it ok to send photos of a sexual encounter because we dont have any other evidence? Or would they refuse such picture? He is on top."

Anyone want a Trollburger?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I did not mean to offend anyone and sorry if I did. And if they are selling common sense, you need to buy yourself some, if you can see that he waited until just after getting his visa (2 weeks after) to end the rship. Is that so hard to see. To me its common sense-maybe am too smart to see what otehrs dont see.

You already have a visa and now ending the rship? My guess is that you will come to the US and be with someone else, without the petitioner knowing it. Or have you asked the embassy to cancel the visa?

Just thought i should let you guys know that we have decided to call it a day and we have ended our relationship.

I was due to go over in 5 weeks time to live in the US but it became too much and the pressure was more than the love so after 2 years we are no longer going to be together.

I wish you all the best on your VJ

Peace :(

That was pretty rude....

People from the UK aren't typically clamoring to enter the US as immigrants; believe it or not. Why not just enter on the Waiver? If the intent is to stay illegally, either way would work, so why the extra effort for a K1?

I hear Wal-Mart is having a sale on Common Sense this week....

Hmmm...along with that sale on Common Sense maybe this person could also afford a spell checker. At any rate, I'm sure others have commented on the "marrying someone other than the petitioner" opinion. Of course, if you have done your research then you know that can't happen...the USCIS, despite our thoughts of this fine organization, would catch on to this and he/she would eventually be in mucho trouble.

Or were you just being snotty for the fun of it?

Edited to say: So sorry to hear of how things are going...I hope it works out for the best, for both of you. HUGS

We had everything organised and she just felt she was not ready to get married, she had a huge breakdown with it all and we felt it was best that we leave it and try and move on.

Its very easy to sit behind you big monitor and keyboard and have a nice little pop at people but it shows you to be nothing but a idiot.

If you asked me where i would want to live London or Greenwood,IN there is only one place. LONDON. She felt she could not leave her family and i could earn well in the US. Hence the reason we got this far.

She feels that its too much pressure and that getting married is not right for her at the moment. Thats fine its just that i cannot continue this long distance anymore as much as i love her, its getting me down.

I would be leaning toward London, given that choice too

Sorry for the demise of your relationship. It is brave for her to own up to her fears and for you knowing that you cannot continue any longer. Here's wishing you both sunnier days to come.

Thanks everyone for your support, i found out last night from a friend that if you graduate from uni in the states your allowed a 6 month working visa in the UK which she can get whithin 2-3 weeks!! But only 6 months after you have graduated.

The thing is when we all started our VJ you have a very tough choice "who goes where" Now i think its best that both people are open minded in which place to settle.

As for greenwood, IN i have been there lots of times and i do like it, so its not a matter of not being able to live there for me.

Also whilst i am here that Pr!ck that keeps saying stupid 5 year old comments on this thread will you please give it a rest because its very boring now. GROW UP!

What Does Distance Do?

Infatuation: absence makes the heart grow fonder - of somebody

else! In infatuation Sue and Sam have been interested mainly

in each other's physical equipment. That is, what they can

see, hear, smell, taste or touch about each other. Such

interest is hard to sustain when they're separated by a

thousand miles. Since only a few things attract them to each

other, the roots of the relationship are thin. It won't last

long unless it gets nourished by a lot of face-to-face

contact.

After the infatuated couple is apart for a few days or weeks,

they begin to lose interest. After a while the physical

equipment of some more available person begins to look good to

them. So if it is infatuation, it will die with distance.

Real Love: survives separation. It may even grow. Absence

does indeed make the heart grow fonder. Why? Because love is

rooted in attraction to the other's total personality, not

just physical appeal. When you are in love, a great many of

the tendrils of your personalities tend to grow together, to

unite you into loving oneness. When you have to be apart, you

are not your whole self.

Very nice. I can honestly say in the last two weeks since we have gotten the approval I have made the statement "I feel like me again". During this process you totally lose yourself, who you are and what you want and believe in, so long as you can focus on your relationship and keep that together it can be done. The old you creeps back in with the joy you are feeling knowing your journey is finally coming to an end. Maybe for some it is more difficult to get themselves back whole again. The OP seems very open to continue this relationship but in a different way for now, and I hope time together can heal what time apart has done to the both of them.
