Hello Everyone,

As some of you know my husband sent the ds-230 yesterday and the ds-230 contents, the payment sheet, and a cover letter of the contents, when i came home i found NVC had sent an email having a pdf saying in the end of it :-

Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet

You must return a legible copy of this cover sheet

attached to the front of your completed Application for

Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (Form DS-230) and

supporting civil documents to:

National Visa Center

Attn.: CMR

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

Failure to return this page will delay your visa.

Use this cover sheet for this case only.

Information for any other case(s) being sent in the

same package or envelope must include the cover

sheet for that case.

Then a barcode with our case number under it, i don't get it? i thouhgt we just needed to like print the payment sheet and have a cover letter and that's it?

Is this really necessary to send along? would it delay our case?

Thanks!

That is just a email reminding you to mail the IV package, NVC is a little slow on their email.

As to the matter of the bar code with your case number on it - did you print the cover sheet AFTER your IV fee was showing paid?

You needed to print the payment sheet AND the cover sheet and then include that cover sheet with your IV package.

yes he did print the cover sheet stating the IV bill was paid, and having the barcode on it with our Case number, and CR1 under that barcode and all, then he made a cover letter of the contents of the Ds-230 package!wouldn't that be all that's needed?

Yes that's correct, you're good, the cover sheet they sent you is the same as the one you printed, NVC is slower than a snail in everything mails and emails :D

Someone told me after his interview, his wife received an email saying that they have forwarded his case to the consulate

Find a job you love to do, and you will never work another day in your life.

Then you are fine.

The email that was received from NVC was just the standard email reminding you to mail in your package. I received the same email the exact same day our IV package was delivered to NVC - the email was dated the 29th but we received the email on the 1st.

My reply are slow posting - it must be the weekend

lovesherhubby,

This was in 2008 interview. NVC scheduled out interview at that time and provided the interview appointment letter by PDF file. We downloaded the packet4 from the Consulate website and proceeded for the medical and interview.

This time - Consulate has emailed me the interview date. It is an informal one, rather than the true one. They said, they will mail packet4 to my wife's local address soon. If you don't get it, please print this email version as a substitute for the appointment letter
