Hi. I got married last year and my husband currently has a multiple entry tourist visa. I am a greencard holder. We were planning to file for I-130 last year but thought that with a petition pending that it would be hard for him to come back to the US, so we decided to maybe wait until I become a US citizen. Now, i am almost to 2 years of being a permanent resident. Please advise which is a better thing to do : to file for I-130 now or wait until I become a US citizen? Please advise. Thank you very much

hi. accdg to my sister, you can apply for a f2a visa so that it will be processed already then when you get your citizenship you can change/update/switch the type of petition already, whichever comes first... that's what we gonna supposed to do because while my husband is earning for days/years for his citizenship he filed us under f2a visa then we will just update it once he will be citizen but since while earning days/years we were able to get a case number in our f2a visa...that's what we are following now coz it came first... you can always call the hotlines for proper advise... :)

Things worth having are worth waiting for. Go for it! Be persistent, no matter what. Keep believing. Keep the faith! ♥

I would apply now; the priority date waiting time is less than a year, so you can be together years before you even get citizenship!

Hi. When did you file your I-130? What is F2A visa? Is that current? So can you stay in the US then with the F2A visa? Thank you very much
