Green card just approved. Now the naturalization journey begins.

First question is... My wife meets the qualifications to apply for naturalization after three years as a permanent resident. Three years from what date? Does the time start from her port of entry or from when she filed for the AOS or from the date the AOS was approved, the date on the green card?

Please write that it is from the date she applied for the AOS, it took 25 months for her case to be approved. That would mean that we have to wait only 11 months, I hope, to apply.

Any advice on the naturalization journey will be received with THANKS.

On her Green Card (or perhaps letter of approval) look for the 'resident since' date.

She is not a PR until her PR is approved, so three years from that date (might be the interview date, might be later)

Advice?

File I-751 if required, at the correct date.

Make triple sure she qualifies under all the other criteria.

Have her check out the Guide to Naturalization starting now (there is a version in Tagalog).

Start studying the civics questions now. Current politics offer lots of opportunities to explain the answers to many of the questions.
