They need to take their passports and a notarized letter from you that you give permission for them to travel to JA with your parents -

Also see here - Not sure how their BC read - but maybe a copy of your marriage license or Richard's bc, proving that he is in JA?

I used to get notorized letters from both parents giving me permission to take my grandkids out of the Country. Perhaps you should call a travel agent. They can advise you on what to do if the father is already in Jamaica.

travel agent.. naah that's not not all necessary... As SUS said .. all the parents really need are letters notorized and that's it.. The children live with the mom in the usa.. so she's the one who really have to do the drafting of the letter/s no action is required of the spouse in jamaica I think.

Letter should include name of parent/s , child/children ages, person travelling with the child/children, contact numbers and the like. travelled with my brother's kids 3 times on 3 seperate trip to Jamaica.. on the 2nd round.. they questioned me as to the child.. they said the would call the parent which they did infornt of me and the IMMIGRATION OFFICER had the gutts to say that had they not pick up the phone that the child would be held back... i wasnt even in secondary for that reason.. think I was back there because I had two green cards one expired and one not and the initial IO asked why i had two..

What frustrates me is that every time it is different. I sent my then 8 year old to Jamaica with a family friend and they never even questioned her. I did provide a letter giving authorization but they never even asked for it....either way.

It's not only JA that's different - my nephews go to hockey camp in Canada - one year no issues, the next they gave my brother in law a hard time. Better to be safe then sorry and have the letter.

Hey yankeegirl, how you been. My son is 7 and my niece is 9 we have been sending them to Jamaica with my parents since they were 15 months old. My parents were never asked for a letter, but we had one (JUST in CASE)....my son has also traveled to Europe many times with other family members and they didn't ask for a letter...better to HAVE it and not NEED it than the other way around. Hope they enjoy their time with dad and a sppedy end to this journey and getting him here.
