What to expect after NVC generates a case No.

I received my Noa2 finally, hard copy sent to me with date 10/29/2010 eventhough i received it in mail on 11/9/2010. My attorney called me with the good news first. Now she said we must wait for the invoice. I called the NVC and spoke with an operater, and I asked if I had a case no. yet and they said yes, they gave it to me and said I must wait 4-6 weeks before they send out the invoice to my attorney they have on file. Can someone tell me at what stage Im at in this process since I already have an agent assigned up front and a case#? Is there anyway to speed up the process from here and not wait 4-6 weeks more?

What you can do is tell your attorney to use Online payment Portal to make online payment,for that you will need Invoice ID number which you can obtain by calling NVC ........so you don't have to wait for 4-6 week for next step :D

Yes you can try calling everyday till you get it.......that what i did :)

Ok, i will keep trying to call a live operator for my invoice number, but can you tell me exactly how you asked for it (the words you used)? When I asked, they again said I have to wait for instructions to be sent to my attorney.

Ok, i will keep trying to call a live operator for my invoice number, but can you tell me exactly how you asked for it (the words you used)? When I asked, they again said I have to wait for instructions to be sent to my attorney.

The best time to call, in my opinion, would be evenings. Around 8-9PM EST. When I spoke to an operator, I asked for my invoice identification number. The operator was hesitant. My exact words were, "I would like my invoice ID number for my records." And then, the operator gave me it.

Some would flat-out tell you, "No, you have to wait 6-8 weeks for..." However, some are really nice and will give it without any problems. The point is: you have to keep on calling and trying. Eventually, you'll get it. :D

Thats rite 1st time when i call them for IIN number operator told me to wait for 6-8 weeks......I thought this operator is just been A** ....so i hang up and try another operator......was lucky this time operator was nice :star:

Thank you, I called, got a nice operator, and she gave me my invoice number. I called my attorney and she prompted me to go online and make the payments...DONE! YAYY

Nope, in my case i am still waiting for my IV fee bill(DS-230) and i paid my Fee on 11-15-2010 after i paid DS-230 Fee.... today they send me instruction Email from NVC regarding DS-230......So i saved lot off time :star:

Ok, thats good news, my attorney said it was ok too. The udated new is that I paid my AOS and IV bill back to back yesterday,and today my status shows paid! My attorney advised that we wait for instructions before we send in the paperwork with the receipt page. Does all this sound like its working in the correct order to you? I just dont want to jump too fast for them...it seems its going quickly

So you did the same as me, you called the NVC to get your case no. and IV. no. after you received your NOA2 from USCIS? I have not received anything by mail or email from NVC eventhough the case and invoice has been generated. OF course, this means they have the file, right? My attorney said she may go ahead and send the papers next week even with notice from them since the case is paid. She said she will call them first to find out for sure about the notice. Do you think she should send the docuements?
