Wow, I just got some great news..... :D

Hubby has been working almost 15 hour days for the last few weeks and it has been terribly hard on him and me... :( and the hours are probably going up because of some new business they accquired.....

so hubby applied for day shift at his company about a month ago... they interviewed him about 2 weeks ago and after that he never heard anything.... his company is a bit slow with those kind of things :P.... We went back and forth on whether he should take the shift or not if they did offer it to him.... With day shift he would be working less hours and he would loose the 8% he gets from working the evening shift... As of this morning my hubby felt like he should keep the shift he is working now.....

But he just called me and they offered him the day shift and he took it :D .... I am sooo happy!!! :D He would start at 6 am and work till about 3 or 4 and the latest he said they work is 5pm or so :D He starts this new shift Monday... It will be a bit of an adjustment having to get up early..... but no more lonely evening and nights for me!! :D:D

Great news Marilyn!! Wife and I were out in your part of the woods a few weeks back. A bit in LA, but mostly in San diego touring around. Cheers

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
