Do you remeber how long S260 took to porcess after you submitted it? :help:

I just got my SIF today (no case complete email yet). So, that's about 29 days after I submitted the DS-260 electronically and 19 days after they received my civil documents in the mail.

But it looks like you already have your interview, so you're probably not worried at all!

My lawyer did the same thing and waited around to hear from the NVC about a bunch of stuff which delayed our process by a month. Trust me, you dont have to wait for anything. As a matter of fact, im pretty sure that the petitioner or beneficiary can log on to pay the AOS AND IV bills. ONce thats paid, you can immediately fill out the visa DS-260 online, and send in your AOS documents and visa supporting documents via email. The nvc doesnt contact you the next steps and dont give you reminders to send in the next documents.

Your safest bet is to call call CALL the nvc and ask every question imagineable.....good luck yall!

going through montreal got a checklist to do the ds230 though we already did ds260? called to ask a csr and the guy said we were in eligible to do the ds260 since we did not enroll in EP and had to do a ds230, weve already submitted our documents via snail mail, im slightly confused?

edit: lol was waiting on hold for a different csr, the lady knew more of what i was trying to say and basically said same thing as another member, just wait a couple weeks and call again basically just waiting for them to review the ds260 and what not, phew was freaking out for no reason. lol

NVC seems to frequently send out checklists asking for the DS-230. They do this before checking to see if the person has already sent in the DS-230/DS-260. Everyone on VJ is just too fast for NVC :P

haha had me worried with the first CSR, he said i couldnt do the ds260 cause we didnt do electronic processing and had already mailed in our documents etc, however didnt seem right to me as its not electronic processing so i called back hoping for a different rep and sure enough she explained it clear as day, that everything is fine since we did the ds260 and we basically just have to wait and to call back in 2 weeks and see how things are going. im so excited!!! i think i will call back next week haha, however i frequent the AVR system daily lol. I think they seriously need to update there systems to distinguish the DS230/DS260 etc to avoid confusing themselves as well as us.

That might take awhile. Even the CSRs seem to not know anything about the DS-260 headbonk.gif

The DS-260 is really new - it changed in October of 2010... and only certain countries are eligiable to do the DS-260. Montreal is one of the lucky few cities that is eligiable for it and therefore MUST send every document in by email. Honestly - I would end up calling the NVC almost EVERYDAY asking them questions. The website is contrradictory and nobody seemed to know what was going on...so i encourage everyone before taking any actions - call the NVC to double check if you are doing the correct thing - they send RFEs for the dumbest little mistakes..

Im confused, every document has to be sent by email?? JF_CIC did ds260 online and mailed in his documents, that is what i did? ahh lol i hate this new procedure but will be happy if somehow speeds it up the process. I guess I will call again next friday, but daily to check the AVR lol.

Hey Zachm611

I noticed that you are using the Montreal consulate - so yes if you have a Montreal Case number you MUST send in your documents in by electronic processing at nvcelectronic@state.gov

Call them on monday because they WILL refuse the mail you sent to them- I made the same mistake and had to send in by email.
