Hey again :)

My husband sent out the AOS package this morning. I didn't double check everything with him when I should have, and it turns out that he and our co-sponsors did not fill out the forms in capital letters (it says to do so in the instructions). Will we get an RFE?

Thank you for your reply :) Hopefully we wouldn't

You are very welcome. I hope we don't either, these people are unpredictable, Crossing my fingers for both of us

By the way the Translator you suggested to me a few weeks ago was great and very kind

She was gonna attach it to the originals but i told her i need the original of the military certificate, you know because i have to have this plus a permission from the ministry of defense to be able to travel, so she made a copy of it and attached that to her translation, but for the Police certificate, it doesn't matter because it expires in three months and i wouldn't use it any more after that.

oh ok :) i was just confused as to attach originals or copies to the translation but ended up having originals attached, then forgot to photocpy them :/ so when i did it had the left upper part not clear since it was stuck to the translation and i freaked out about NVC being mean about that......

Also my birth certificate was lost, i couldn't find it so i went to the ministry of health in lazogly to issue another one, while i was there i asked them if they can translate it for me after they issue it, they told me that they can issue original English birth certificates, so thank god i had a copy of the lost birth certificate, they asked me how i want my name to appear in the certificate. it looks very professional, so now i have an English birth certificate only lol

Here is another piece of information i have just found out yesterday

Translation Requirements

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

  • Translation is accurate, and
  • Translator is competent to translate.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

So it's really not required to translate it but we did it anyway :D

yeah, i knew that! Except i think people tend to do so anyway so they'd avoid NVC working them over for one, you know ?:)

I keep hearing conflicting things. Someone please explain it to me clearly. If my spouse's original documents are all in Arabic (from Egypt), do we need English translations? I get that the originals must be certified, but does NVC want English certified translations as well as the original documents in Arabic? someone please clarify once and for all.
