It would help to know what State you are in. In Az where I live I dint have any of these problems. I just showed my passport with visa. The licence was good for the length of my visa.

In GA they require the same things. I guess it is just part of what they needed.

However, their requirements on online

IDK about getting driver permit without EAD or GC but if you are not going to need the insurance and just got added to the insurance call them ASAP and cancel to get your money back.

I pay for a year at a time (cheapest option) and have had 1/2yr refunded when selling vehicles or dropping someone off policy.

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

I know California I had to prove that I had insurance to get my permit, and I also needed my EAD (some states might give a temp that is only valid till the end of your I-94) to prove residence. My full license is only valid until my 2 year GC expires, so I have to renew it the same time I am filing removal of conditions.
